Best free project management programme?

Hello, thoughts for mac and pc based programmes. Looking for programmes that will work well for creative projects (advertising including digital) No need to interface with any other programmes.

Here is one free open source project management software package.

You should check out ProjectPier (www.projectpier.org) it is very similar to BaseCamp and its free. It is web-based, so you will have to have a place to host/install it yourself.
