After my divorce in 1973, I was dating this guy who had a couple of kids. I had my son. We went out, kids went too !! Well all the while, I thought he was drinking a bottle of 7-Up. he was actually putting hard liquor into the bottle. By the end of the night, I had asked my date to stop the car. I got out and left my son in his car. I went and knocked on the door of this house, whos occupants I did know. I was told to go get my son and stay there ...till he left... well I go to get my son, and my date was holding him, and wouldn't let go. so I got back in the car which is what he instructed me to do, I asked to be taken home, Once there and safely inside, my date, got mad and took out a section of my white picked fence surrounding my house......as he finelly sped off. Meanwhile I was on the phone to my friend..... and neighbor ( he and his wife lived up the street from me by 2 blocks)..... he came over and asked my date to leave.... and then called the cops.
My friend stayed with me till the cops came, and by then my date left, before the cops got there..... but it all ended fine, but it was scarey.
My neighbor later divorced his wife, and married me.
We've been married for over 33 years. and no not because I was such a poor judge of guys for dating, but because he thought he could change my mind.
He thought I needed some guidance.... turns out maybe he was right. LOL

I recall bravely asking this beautiful girl out...and she accepted!! That was the most joyous moment of my teen life!!

I expected to have us see a romantic movie (chick flicks weren't common back then). But instead, there were two B-grade sci-fi films. Determined to salvage the evening, I chose one and we went in.

20 minutes into the film, my date fell soundly asleep; telling me all I needed to know. When she came to, she was feeling uncomfy. So, I took her home.....and never cared to see her again.

I don't hang around w/ those who don't want to be around me....and I don't waste effort questioning why they don't like me.
