Pomegranate is safe for all birds and is a wonderful supply of sugar and vit C.

Pomegranates are fine and great vitamin source. One of your respondents apparently doesn't realize that the seeds of the pomegranate are the main edible part of that particular fruit. Also, citrus fruit seeds are edible but the birds probably won't like them anymore than humans do.

In fruits such as apples and cherries, the seed should NOT be fed to your bird - and NO avocado part(s) at all.

My three caiques LOVE pomegranate seeds. If I set out a bowl of pomegranate and a bowl of walnuts (another thing they'll kill for), the pomegranates go first. Then they want more.

The only downside of pomegranate seeds is it turns their droppings purple -- which doesn't matter to me except when I have to clean them off the carpet.
