If i were you i'd think all this internet safety stuff was nonsense but honestly, its kinda true, i mean you wouldn't wanna get stranded in the outback with a guy named chicken george but then again i know you don't wanna miss your chance on "true love/great friendship". so here's what i'd do, organise a date, a meeting a coffee whatever ... here's the catch .... ONLINE!, web cams with audio, organise it for like a weeks time, you both make the effort to look decent (from the head up) he could be overlooking a beach in OZ you could be in a cafe in (wherever you), if it goes well, do it a few more times, maybe record some so you have his ID just incase and if its odd then atleast you didnt spend a gazillion bucks getting to him. hope that sounds like a good idea.

Safety First!...If your not an adult do not meet. If an adult and you feel you want to meet, then do it in a very public place, maybe with a friend present. A lot of the bad guys are real persuasive smooth talkers. Odds are this guy is alright, but be cautious.

depends on a few things
how long have you been in contact, how have you been in contact, letter, emails, phone calls.
Do you know enough about him to feel safe meeting him, how do you know he is who he says he is?
If you want to meet with him, you will anyway no matter what anyone says to jou, but take a friend so your not alone

If you feel you talked to him loads and know him a little, its a long way to go for a date though. One thing to remember is don't believe half of what people tell you on line and then you wont be disappointed. There are some lovely people out there but you cant guarantee he will be one of those.
Good luck hunny!

NO. Never go in person to meet someone you know only from the Internet. It is dangerous, because they may not be who they have said they are on the Internet.
