Currently only when using Remote Play.

As has been said by the guy who deserves the points, a firmware update will implement some form of PSP control, though maybe only for specific games.

Remember that the PSP only has one analogue nub and one pair of shoulder buttons. The new button arrangement of using Select as a form of shift (Select+Right shoulder = PS3 Right 2) works under some circumstances, but isn't suitable for everything - you're going to feel rather exposed in Resistance, Killzone2, Warhawk or Haze if you have to shift between the analogue sticks like that!

As a control pad for games - no. As a simple remote - yes by using Remote Control function.
