I know, stupid question but I don't know. If I return my ipod, could I receive my money back in cash?

I paid in cash. Is getting it back in cash a possibility?

Different stores have different policies on refunds. If there's nothing wrong with the item but you just decide to return it, some won't allow it, some will charge a restocking fee of maybe 15% of the price, and some will only give you a store credit, not cash.

You should get the sales tax back if you get the purchase price refunded.

If you return goods, you will receive a refund of the sales tax as well.

Any refund will be up to the store. Some will only issue a store credit. Others will refund your money in the same form as you paid. If you paid cash, you'll get cash. If you paid by credit card, you'll get a credit on your credit card account.

I'm confused here...
Yes, you will get tax back.
As for the credit payment, you will typically receive the credit in the form of the original payment method.
