Am I the only one in this world who thinks there is big difference between making love and having sex?!! I have talked to several people about this and I haven't found many people (especially guys) knowing this ... Many of them just looked puzzled once I talk to them about this ...
Okay I know sometimes someone might have a lot of feelings for another and they actually have little making love in thier sex ... but I am talking about the real making love. Here is what I think is the difference between them:
* While having sex, the feelings are just dull physical with the goal of just reaching orgasm, while making love I feel that orgasm is something I don't want to reach as it signals the end of heaven.
* During sex, a guy mostly working out the genitals and using the kissing and foreplay as a tool to losen the girl and get her ready for intercourse. While in making love, the couple just worship all body parts and every touch (even touching the hair) sends trembling feeling all over.

* There is no Yuk or discusting in making love as everything in your lovers body smells and tastes delcious and you cant have enough of it.
* In sex even the words are dry sexual or dirty words that are common between people but in making love the words are from the heart and even breaths and moans are a pleasing symphony that you can't ever remember hearing anything better.
* After sex, partners just go back to their busy lives with unfulfilled satisfaction and with a hunger for more ... while after making love, both partners just keep kissing, smelling, talking, and touching each other with a satisfaction that lasts for days and an obvious effect on the feelings for each other .... The feeling after making love is just equal if not better of the making love itself.

* In sex, some needs of the partners can stay unsatisfied, while in making love it is not possible for anything like that because the hearts and bodies of the lovers communicate and each of them are racing to satisfy each other ... In making love, a lover is mostly pleased, if and only if, he satisfy the other with most possible ways ... so it is just not possible to be unsatified.
* Finally, if you feel for someone really, you can even make love to them by just playing with their hands or hair only and can do it with happiness for hours without getting bored while in sex you could be bored if your partner stops for a minute to close the door ...

Sometimes I think making love is like an exotic unknown Island, you can't make sense talking about it unless the other person has been there ... That person will keep telling you it can't be any different from all the other places :)

*** Sometimes after a good normal sex session I think to myself, why do men go into so much trouble with girls just to do this while they can feel similarly jacking off without all the hassle .... After making love however, I think, is there any better feeling in life?!

I definitely agree that there is a big difference, I was in a relationship for 9 years, either way it is still sex, but during the act of sex, it is very easy to determine the difference between sex and actual love making. That is how (in my opinion) people can tell from sex if their partner is cheating, because that love is not felt. Making love and just sex have very different feelings involved. I think you did a great job in your explanation, and to some people that say those things (the kissing all over the body, the not wanting to stop when you know the orgasm is coming quickly) can still happen during sex I also agree with you as well however the feelings are not there and both partners know that. Even to be with someone for a long period of time, than the relationship ends, to have sex is very awkward because the feeling that were once shared are no longer there and its just sex without the love therefore its not the same at all.

There is definitely a difference in the two. Having sex is basically what you would experience when you have a one night stand or when the spouse is rushing to get to or get back to work or on a lunch break. Also known as a quickie or a wham bam thank ya ma’m. To make love involves two people having affection for one another. When your partners eyes only leaves your eyes so that they can move to kiss your body all over. When your partner does every thing just wright to perfection because they know that this is what you like and is what brings you joy. Usually making love will involve more foreplay than intercourse such as fondling, kissing, touching, caressing, licking nibbling etc. and will usually end with both of you falling asleep in each others arms.

Wow - I so haven't been think about any of that stuff.
Been together with my partner for many years, two great kids and can't say that I can honestly say the above.
Perhaps, it is depending on a person's individual beliefs?

Having sex is just sex. Making love is with feelings and committment. Making love could last a lifetime and end up in marriage,
Having sex is fun but no committment and no real relationship

I notice that when I'm making love I'm always kissing.. like 99% of the time. During sex, there is no kissing, perhaps slight kissing on the neck.

yep there is a difference...making love is not really trying to get off but more of a loving experience...just sort of stare into eachothers eyes and enjoy kissing etc. It is a great experience and very different.
