It's really not that illogical. Actually, it's very Biblical. The scriptures do say that we will be joint heirs with Christ. And mathematically, infinity divided by infinity is still infinity.
Also, didn't Christ preach for all men to be like Him and his Father? If it's blasphomy for us to be like God and Christ, then that would make Christ a liar, wouldn't it? Think about it. Why would he command us to be something, when he doesn't really want us to be it? That's not Christ. We all know him. We know He doesn't lie to us. He doesn't ask of us things we cannot do.
Yeah I know. The next question is, "But it's wrong. Because of the fall we can't be like God." Well, we Mormons don't believe the fall the way you do. Adam and Eve partake the fruit, and suddenly creation in itself fails? So God has to send Christ in as a back up plan? As though Satan's will is more powerful than Gods? No. We don't think that. Christ was meant to come down from the beginning. Just as Adam and Eve were meant to gain knowledge. Our purpose had been from the start to gain eternal life despite of sin.

Jesus said it quoting Psalms. Guess what happened. They wanted to stone him. When you put down your rock, they will explain it to you.

What about? Yeshua/Jesus said "Ye are gods"... Yeshua/Jesus said it is necessary for his disciples to become like him, saying the servant should become as his master, the disciple as his teacher. Believe it or not you are supposed to become like Yeshua and you have a higher soul reality that you must be born into, in order to become a true son and be one with the Logos/mind of God. Hence you must know thy self. Also Yeshua told man to be perfect as God is perfect and that was a commandment, of what they should become, perfect. "In God we live move and have our being" - "we are his offspring"?
Also what about this passage in John is corrupted now, "it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." (1 John 3:2 KJV)
However Origen and others quoted this verse, and in the scriptures of those times (2nd C.E) that verse read somewhat differently, look closely, “it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like God, and shall see Him as He is”. (Origen’s Contra Celsum)
I agree with the Mormons, but go one step forward to say that how can you be apart from God, what exist apart from God?

We believe that we MAY BE as God is. Paul said the same thing, to the Corinthians and teh Galatians. That we can be heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. It's in the Bible!

living in mormonville (saltlakecity) all my life and not being a mormon, i never heard this before,.........i'll ask a missinary that comes to my house every week and they act like they never met you befored event though they came the week before and the week before that...........they gotta keep track of whos mormon and not, cuz they only got to houses that aren't mormons did you hear this directly from a mormon, cuz this sounds crazy
