Yes it is, i use liver pate has well that you get from the chiller department. I use asda's own liver pate which is very cheap mixed with dogs own biscuits.

I buy all natural peanut butter like Laura Scudders, no additives. Cream cheese is also used but like someone said it is something to hold cookies/biscuits/dog food in. Use caution when giving beef and beef products, bacon, ham, etc. because of the possibility of pancreatitis, and too much liver can lead to Vitamin A toxicity.
A stuff Kong is a great tool, there is a Kong time device which can deliver 4 stuffed Kongs over a certain time period. You can find one at www.upco.com. Have fun.

I have the really big Kong's because my dogs still eat them within a week. I put peanut butter and biscuits in them. It seems to last just a bit longer. But yes, its the regular peanut butter.

Yes, peanut butter is good, but not too regularly. You can also buy Kong brand Peanut butter flavoured stuff (it's fake and full of additives so I'd avoid it like the plague)
Also cream cheese is good, mixed with a bit of ham and cornflakes.
Basically you just need something stodgy to bind everyting together.
My dog's personal favourite is pate mixed with dog biscuits.
Yumm, don't it just make your mouth water??

Be careful of peanut butter as there can be a lot of sugar in it, which isnt too natural for a canine.
I wouldnt shell out on pate (that's for me!) or special kong stuffers either. Meat paste or corned beef is good but watch the salt. Dogs aren't used to it like we are.
I use cheap mince and any bits of raw meat slightly too old for me. Wet (tinned) food is great for this, and I mix it with his normal dry stuff to give a range of textures.
A little unsalted butter smeared inside is good too, as is cream cheese (watch salt/sugar though).
A good trick is to stuff it in advance then store in the freezer. Take it out a little in advance to soften slightly, and there you have a doggy ice pop!

Good Kong stuffings
Peanut butter (yep the kind they make sandwiches out of)
Other nut butters (if you don't have peanut butter)
Soft cheese - American style "cheese product" is pretty cheap (ghastly stuff - but dogs love it). I wouldn't use the good Stilton
Liver pate

we use tinned corned beef, if you are using a large kong, half a tin should be enough, cut into cubes and then stuffed into the kong, kept my rotties quiet and amused for ages, and its cheaper than pate, wouldnt have thaught that much peanut butter is good for your dog anyway, if you use corned beef, you can give a little less food at meal times to account for the meat in the kong,

When we give our dog a kong we put in a small lump of cheddar cheese right in the bottom sticking out a bit so she can see it, we then fill up the kong three quarters full with her dried food and on the top with put cream cheese to the top. She appears to love this and spends ages working down to the yummy cheddar at the bottom.

Peanut Butter is fine, anything similar is, just dont bu kong ones, as their expensive and full of additives.
Marmite is also good, as is small amount of jam, natural yogurt, pate, etc.
My favourite recipee's
Natural Yogurt, mixed with Puff Jerky &/ apricots, stuffed into kong and frozen till its slushy.
(most things mixed with natural yogurt and frozen are good.)
Crushed cornflakes, mixed with tiny amount of natural yogurt or marmite (so its like a sticky mess), dont freeze, as it should be a thick consistency, but you could freeze in hot weather, and rub mushed apple (apple sauc is fine) over the edge of the kong.
Also for quick ones, just rub things into the inner part of kong.
ie. marmite, peanut butter etc.
Have Fun
