I don't care about anything in the OT. This question is directed at the NT. I am not talking about mistranslation, but rather is it possible for something to be totally incorrect. I am also not talking about slight differences in the stories in the gospels either. Also does the bible say anything about it being perfect?

The bible has no wrong parts in it. Nothing is perfect but God. What is it that you think is wrong in the NT?

Yes. The true Christian confession in the Gospels is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. But there are few verses in the NT which say that Jesus Christ IS GOD. There is a problem here. God and Son of God are not the same. Those verses which show that Jesus is God have been used by Trinity-believing Christians to prove the Trinity. Yet if u read the Gospels and most of the NT, there are many verses that say Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So there is something not really right there.

The Bible also says that all Scripture is 'God-breathed' (somewhere in Timothy I think). So it has claims to divine inspiration. There is bound to be errors in translation though, but luckily the original message is still intact.

I don't think there are lies there. A lie is when you KNOW the truth but speak an untruth, knowingly. But I do think there can be mistakes there.

I think the New Testament was written by human beings who told the story of Jesus and his salvation to the best of their abilities and understandings. But it is the life and works of Jesus which was perfect - not necessarily what came to be written about that life and works.

So we have to understand that while the scriptures were inspired by Jesus's life and works, they are not necessarily perfect.

We must furthermore understand that some things were edited and added by people who had cultural biases against women. We must take that part with a grain of salt.

There is a verse (in Timothy I think?) stating that all Scripture is heaven-breathed. Yet, what does that mean? Does it mean perfect? No, if it meant perfect, wouldn't it have said perfect? And didn't a man also write Timothy? And all scripture - what did that mean? Did it mean also the Apocrypha? Did it include the works that had not been written yet, like Revelation? Did it include the hundreds of writings that did not make it into the New Testament?

No there are no lies in the new testament and none in the old testament either.

I've read them both at least 5 times through and other parts, much more often than that.

What amazes me is that a collection of 66 books written over approximately 4000 years is so consistent. Some of the writers were very scholarly and one was a gardener. There are books written by a man named Josh McDowell that specifically search things out to help people see what a phenomenal book the Bible is.

However, until I met Jesus Christ for myself, the Bible was just a dusty old book for religious geeks.

If you really want to know how truthful the Bible is there are plenty of materials to help you research it for yourself.

I still read the Bible and discover new things even after reading it for 36 years; it is an inexhaustible treasure!

There are no lies in the new Testament.

There are traditions men that invalidate the word of God.

These traditions are used to justify and create doctrines.

These doctrines and traditions are the cause of many verses being removed and mistranslated in various versions of the entire bible not just the New Testament.

yes there are several fabricated lies added to the present day version of bible(new testament).it is to be noted that the various gospels where what was heard by his disciples, the original bible was compliled in aramaic the syrian dialect, which did not actually contain the concepts of begotten son and/or the trinity.the concept of trinity was added in the fourth century a.d. by the christian king constantine who before becoming christian was himself a pagan but gave a pagan influence to the new testament even after becoming a christian due to his pagan past.another lie is the crucification of christ and then his rising on the third day which are contradictory to each other, actually holy quran provides the ingenuine solution to it jesus(peace be upon him) was a spirit and a word of allah who was lifted upto allah the exalted when the jews had started plotting against him ,and he will return as a sign for the coming of the day of judgement.the concepts of trinity, crucification and the begotten son are the biggest lies taught to millions of christians by satan to add them to the hellfire.

The bible does indeed declare that scripture is perfect but does not identify what that scripture is. To write scripture requires inspiration from The Holy Spirit. To correctly identify and understand scripture requires illumination from that same Holy Spirit. According to Jesus and The Holy Spirit the gnostic gospels are scripture and the o.t. is not.

Since the Old Testament is manly stories there is a good chance that the New Testament is also just stories
