he comes to work everyday but our offices are far away. I wanna see him and say hi to him. So, I thought of calling him first when he comes to his office and then tell him I'd like to pass by his office before I go home, just to make sure he's ok.
Is it ok or would he get me wrong? I mean there's nothing there, we just used to work together and recently we both got busy with other stuff..so what do you think..is it ok?

I wonder what makes you feel like you have to be extra careful when you approach this guy. Does he make you feel uncomfortable in some way (good or bad)?
If he is truly a platonic friend then I would treat him in the same way that I treat my other platonic friends. Would you call your other friends to see if they're in their office before stopping by? If so, then he's no different. However, if not then maybe you should question yourself as to why you're treating him differently.
Good luck.

You are mixed up in the head. (lol keep reading)

I believe your intentions are more than just saying "HI" and are you "OK?"

... if that is really all you want out of this relationship then you should just do whatever you want. Life is too short not to stop by and say hello and catch up on current events and ol' times.

Remember, you are in control. Don't let him get the wrong idea and don't worry about it so much.

But in my opinion, with the little information you have given... I think you are just waiting for an excuse to go on a flirtatious romp thru his office. Good Luck!

Drop by and excuse yourself asking if the colleague is busy or not. Then state your business. Unless it is a very formal office, a quick hi does not have to be announced in advance. If it is a more formal office. Email him telling him that you were wondering how he was doing, and that if it is okay with him, you would like to drop in on him for a few minutes on day.
