My name is Claudio Teri and I am the CEO of DrSocial ltd.
My company launched www.drsocial.org a few months ago.
We focus our attention on the necessity of the US community in a more transparent and efficient healthcare system and we provide a doctor review platform with the following features.
We collect reviews on doctors made by patients. Our review template is aiming to highlight areas of the MD profession that can be improved. This database will allow future patients to search for the best doctor in their area based on other people experiences.
Doctors, on the other hand, will be able to promote their business through quality and can begin a meaningful use to help patients. The website is completely free for doctors and patients.

I believe that having to pay for such a service does not represent the right path to finally get a proper doctor review site because everyone should have access to this information at no cost.

We understand that patients have several criteria for finding the right doctor and doctors have different needs in terms of what they would like to find in their profile page; we tried to analize where our competitors have failed and give both (patients and doctors) various tools to achieve their goal.
We also tried to keep the website as flexible as possible in order to change and adapt functionalities for additional tools our users might request. ( in other terms we don’t believe we are rocket scientists but rather hard workers).

We all start at the beginning with a given database, therefore is the structure of the website and the engagement of users through the web that makes a difference and this is the reason why we also added a forum section to the site. In our forum users can find health and medical news, nutrition tips etc.. Users can also create and post their own articles (previous admin approval).

What makes us really different compared to most websites is our growth strategy, aiming to create a sustainable tool for the healthcatre system and an additional reason why docs and pats should join us.
DrSocial is spending its marketing resources mainly to fund medical research projects. We are allocating approx 95% of our budget into this concept.
We achieve our goal by contacting Non profit organizations aiming to raise funds for medical research. Our agreement with them is based on the following procedure:
Non Profit associations put our link on their website, and for every user signing up from that referral we donate them $1. We have already signed our first 1 year agreement with Colon Cancer Alliance. If sign ups are not coming from a referral we still donate the sign up equivalent in dollars to an association that we pick or that users are suggesting (of course we check who these associations are).
We are also partnering with other health startups in order to promote fundraising based on people’s sign ups and not donations and help our partner’s growth. We now have an ongoing lottery with a 100K sign up target ($100K) to be donated to asthma research. Check the link:

Sincerely,
Claudio
