My gf and I have a long distance relationship untill I graduate. (im in KY shes in MO) When I do graduate I am moving there and staying at my friends house there for minmal rent. Anyway, our relationship has been rocky lately at best, and shes been "breaking up then unbreaking up with me" and thats driving me crazy and making me upset. OK, so the other day I told her my parents where getting me a new guitar for my 18th bday next week, and she got mad about it saying I dont need it because I already have 5 other guitars, and that I should ask for money for when I move there. However, I have wanted this gutiar for a long time (Gibson LP Custom) Last night she broke up with me again "for good" and I was extremly depressed. I cried, puked, i was a mess. So this morning with and "idc anymore" attitude I went and bought the guitar myself, and just asked my parents for $$ for moving there. She called me 2day "undo the breakup". How do i tell her i got the guitar w/o pissing her off?

Wow, tuff question. Your girlfriend might be trying to control you. That desprately needs changing for a working relationship, and your about to make a HUGE sacrifice for her, she needs to be happy that you have such a great intrest in guitars and she should buy you the pick. You could also sell some of your other guitars ect. Don't think about the money for now, let your relationship be your issue. as for telling her, I would let her know soon but not -now- by soon man maybe a week at best, let things cool and bring it up slow. If a fight breaks out, lets hope you know what to do. I hope this helped :)

Hey, you're only 18 so give her up. You now have 6 guitars so you must love to play so don't let her control you. If you did have an "idc anymore" attitude you would have let your parents buy you the guitar for your 18th B.D. and not paid for it yourself. There are plenty of girls out there that will let you do and be who you are. YOU should be the one to "dump" her, quick! You'll be happier in the long run. Let her "chop" someone else up for a change cause that's how she is!

Wow, she gets this way over a guitar??!! I wonder what would happen if you had wanted to buy a puppy! Would she have had you kill it?!! Do you really like being in this yo-yo of a relationship? Okay, I guess you do, so I would just come right out and say it, "I bought the guitar". If she goes ballistic, that's her problem. Don't make excuses and don't defend your actions, just tell her. If she breaks up with you, you know she'll be back unbreaking up with you...so don't worry about it.

I'm gonna guess that you're about 20 years old and you started dating this girl in high school. Everyone has had this high school girlfriend who they think is the right one for them because its all they know. You're so young, you have no idea whats out there. Why settle for some super emotional girl from your home town? Do yourself a favor and MEET SOME OTHER FEMALES! A real relationship is about looking out for the person you love and supporting their choices. Not trying to control them and make them cry and puke when they do something that you can't benefit from. Nice guitar by the way.

i'm sorry she's doing this to you.. but really if she always gets mad.. she'll get over it right? .. sometimes it makes things easier to give the good news first.. so perhaps you can tell her that you told your parents to give you the money... and then say "and i got the guitar" it's something that you really wanted.. if she truly loves you then she should understand and be happy for you. i really wish you the best.. and i hope she stops breaking up with you like that.. cause it's not fair.. she could lose you for good one of these days.. tell her to watch out for that... she's so darn lucky she has someone like you!

It is none of her business. You are not married to her. Tell her that it is your birthday, and you should be able to get gifts that you might not be able to buy for yourself.

Ask her how she would like it if you gave her a blender instead of a nice gift for her birthday. Birthday gifts should be for your enjoyment, not to pay bills with.

This is a clear picture into your future with her son. Remember this before you say I do.

Just tell her that the last time she broke up with you, she said it was for good, so you went out and bought it.

just tell her. if she gets mad she will get over it. and if not then you brake up with her. why does she keep breaking up with you in the first place. do you really want to keep this type of relationship. what is it going to be like when you move there. think about it. but on the guitar like said just tell her.

You don't have to tell her about the guitar....

Have you ever heard of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic? The guitar is a deck chair, and you're on a wreck that's making you sick. Save yourself and the deck chairs will take care of themselves.

well it sounds to me like she is confused about the relationship just like you, you sound like a nice lad but you need to decide weather you want her to keep upsetting you or you can get on with your life and be with some one who loves you and you guitars!!!!!!

Quit taking her sorry *** back and find yourself a sane woman.
Unless there's a ring on her finger, she has no business worrying about what you do with your money.
