Because most of them never really read the evolution theory. They just know the simplified version of it. Their peers laugh at the stupid evolutionists, who bring themselves as low as claiming a beast as an ancestors, while they claim to be a work of God.

They are already, guilty of one of the great Sin, Pride of MAN. They regard other living creatures as below them, as they learned from the Bible that their God's chosen.

They fail to recognise that we Human are part of the environment, and not above it, and we must help in conservation of Earth, for there's no one who will right the wrongs we did, once Earth is destroyed. They think God will remade Earth into a paradise, that's why they continuing desecrating it, for there's second chance for them

Actually Christians are not the only ones who think that way. The concept of evolution actually means "unfolding" or constant development. This constant development is made possible through genetic drift or natural selection. This is what is known in the scientific world as the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection === a theory that was spawned and promulgated by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russell Wallace, and which you could also read about in Darwin's book "The Origin of the Species". Sigh, this will take an entire lecture, but anyway, in short, the concept that man came from monkeys was actually first proposed by the scientific community, not just Darwin, although Darwin was one of the most popular supporters of this thought. We have Thomas Huxley, Carolus Linnaeus and Raymond Dart to name just a few. If you want to read more, try to get a copy of the book by Darwin, "The Descent of Man". Better yet, try Wikipedia :-)

Because that is what they were teaching when I was in school. They even had drawn pictures in text books that show a monkey and then different pictures showing the evolution of that monkey in to man. That's why.

I've gotta be honest here, it's because we as Christians don't take the time to actually find out what evolution is all about.

I did biology in school and so understand what evolution says. I totally believe in microevolution. I have got no problem with that. However macroevolution, to me it just doesn't quite stack up. There are too many questions that are unanswered. For example, at what point in evolution did animals start to have bones and what purpose did they serve? Did muscles come before or after bones? And then where does skin fit in? In my head, unless they all evolved at the same time, then I don't understand how any complex organism could have evolved on a macro level. If anyone can explain this to me then I would appreciate it greatly because I think that it would be small minded for me to limit God and say that He could not have used evolution as a tool to create humans.

Anyway, to summarise. The Christians you refer to don't know enough about evolution and are too arrogant to actually go and study it. The viewpoint a lot of Christians would take would be, evolution is wrong and incompatible with the Bible therefore I won't bother with it.

That was the first concept of evolution. There were charts placed throughout every public school in the country and it was taught that man evolved from ape. Some of those charts still appear in classrooms today.

Because that's what they used to teach. It was only recently that they started to teach common ancestry instead.

When I was in middle school (and elementary school), the version WE got (and yes, I was in public school, first in South Carolina, then in California, then in Washington State) is that we were descended from apes. Then, when I was in high school, we were taught that apes and humans had a common ancestor. That sort of confused me.

But whatever. I read everything I can get my hands on now, instead of getting the condensed versions in school.

A man named Charles Darwin wrote a book, in the late 1800's that said man came from apes, through evolution.

His book made people think that for a long time, but the more science learns about how things work, the less realistic is to say we evolved from apes.

Christians believe God created mankind and the world around us - all that is in it..

Google Charles Darwin, evolution and creationism and you will find tons of stuff to explain all these ideas. Then you can chose who and what you want to believe.

I believe God created me. I have a relationship with Jesus Christ and I believe the Bible.

Does this mean I've got all the answers. OH NO!!!! But, I'm happy with what I believe.

I don't think it's a coincidence that most people who don't "believe" in evolution don't really understand it.

perhaps because it's easier to disregard it that way - and some of them really want to disregard it. one suspects that some of their leaders want that too - it's probably pretty sweet when your followers think that you have all the answers.
