Smoke and Dale Jr. are well known for being among the best draft partners at the superspeedways. They are also best of friends on and off the track. Still, Jr. Nation hates him and I was wondering...

Add: Rick 45, the CoT bumpers match, unlike the conventional cars, which could make for more successful bump drafting.
Still, you make a good point--we don't know if drafting will be the same or similar. They're using a wider opening in the restricter plate, and a lower rear end gear ratio, which means the race could be more like California or Michegan than what we have seen in the past at 'Dega

Okay, I'm sorry I generalized Jr. Nation. We are all race fans and we all have our individual likes and dislikes. Most of the Tony bashers I have seen on Yahoo Answers have had an 8, 88, or "Dale Jr" in their screen name, and I broke one of my personal rules--Don't jump to conclusions. This has been a meaningful discussion, so I'm extending it.

Those 2 are the best when they team up. Has anybody noticed that in the last few races at Tella that nobody will pull out with junior except Tony. They have their Shi* together at that track. The only concern is the big one. As soon as the toys blow up or wreck the race will get good, that is if there are any cars still on the track. The Toys did shock me in Qualifying but like Gordon said, anybody can drive in qualifying. Lets see what the Canadian can do. I agree with JR though, There are drivers in Nascar on a regular basis that are frightening. Lets not exclude Jr and Tony as they take out their fair share but that's what Nascar was and should return to. Are we to shackle these drivers to the point that the races will be as mundane as Fontana, follow the leader?

Tony Stewart is a loud mouthed punk. The ONLY thing going for him, is he owns what is possibly the best little dirt track around, Eldora.
He thinks he can say anything he wants, and get away with it, and apparently he has convinced NASCAR not to fine him for cussing at a cameraman last week, what a jerk.
I will always dislike Tony Stewart for who, and what he is, but I will never discount his driving ability. The man has talent, and Jr. recognizes that.Jr. and Stewart have worked well in the past, and I see this Sunday as being no different.
I am obviously a Jr. fan, but I can tell you I have been dissappointed in his decisions on the track in the past. Sometimes he has made the wrong choices, as have every other driver out there. Show me a driver that hasn't made a few bad decisions, and I will show you a driver looking for his first win, and a ride next year.
It is the nature of the beast. The only thing is when you make a bad choice at Talledega, it usually involves several other drivers who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Let's see if the COT will allow these guys to race to the finish avoiding "the big one".
GO FAST, TURN LEFT.

I'm a Jr fan I do not hate Tony. Yes they are known to be among the best draft partners out there...I just hope they race hard, and they do not end up in the Talladega big one.. Tony is in the chase and Jr isn't, I have a feeling Tony is going to do everything that Tony can do to win...If Tony has the better and faster car, and Jr helps him some..great....But I'd rather it be the other way around Tony helping Jr win.....

First off when Jr has a car that runs well he doesn't like to pair up for the most part of the race. He likes to move around and shake things up by falling back and then coming back to the front.
Second - Hendrick has team meetings before races and I am sure they discuss strategy during those meetings. So I don't think you'll see much Jr / Stewart drafting. Maybe they will help each other get to the front but I don't think they will be dedicated toward each other.
Third - I have never hated Tony Stewart. I think he needs to learn to control his emotions but he is a good driver. Also he helped Jr in some previous Talladega and Daytona races when nobody else would as far as drafting. Jr would have never won one restictor plate race without Tony's help. I as a fan have always been grateful to Tony Stewart for that. Tony's words after the interview was "You might as well help him because he's coming to the front anyway".
Fourth - Jr Nation doesn't hate Tony. There may be a few. But I'd be willing to say most of Jr Nation likes Tony Stewart.

No one knows how the COT will draft. This is the first plate race for the COT and the old drafting partners might not work so well. I think it would be a long shot to see any particular combination work with these cars. Stewart and Earnhardt might not be able to work together. We'll have to wait until Sunday to find out.

regulations are regulations. in basic terms like it became ok and then some for Jr to bypass the p.c.. motor vehicle for his win @ Michigan. If Tony theory Regan became nevertheless a danger after he went under the yellow line, he does no longer have enable him get beforehand of him. Of that, i'm valuable. the different driving force and this would not additionally be a controversy. I in basic terms wish he might have gained it in his domicile Depot 20

Why does this "great driver" crap come up so often about a person who hasn't won a race in two seasons...how does that make a person great...in most other major sports a person has to produce...but when you can sell some caps, t-shirts and some die cast cars, man you are #1..what is your opinion of being a true NASCAR driver?

I'm a Smoke fan and definitely not a JR fan. They are friends yes, best friends no. Smoke will only hep JR if it helps himself. I doubt very seriously if JR could win any race this year even with help, as he has no motivation to do so. He likes driving cars, but he's not a true racer. He is more into the fans and talking about racing. Tony on the other hand is a true racer and want to do nothing but race. He does not like the media and all the sponsor considerations as JR does.
Jr nation will always hate who they hate as they love the marketing puppet they woriship.

Tony has yet to win at Talladega but he's finished 2nd several times. I hope he can get a win this weekend, he really needs the points after last weekends disaster. Jr also needs a win really bad and he usually runs well at Talladega. I'd like to see the #8 Budweiser win while Jr is still driving it.
