They are no where in the same league as the U.S. Marines. U.S. Marines are tougher than them by a long shot!

Not to say that they are not tough because I know they are.

But U.S. Marines are the toughest of all.

do you really think either regiment is going to say that they are weaker? this is healthy rivalry and if you see the boys together in iraq for example they are on the same side fighting for the same things, no regiment is strong without the backup of others, marines or not

Each to his own. As long as they get the job done then whats the problem with a little boasting. The US has a bigger Military Organisation than the U.K. so you cannot really compare the situation fairly.
Unless somebody starts up a World Marine competion man to man against the clock with set rules, etc..etc..

During the war that is called collateral damage and whilst great care is taken to avoid it those things happen and they are investigated. The problem stems from they are not in uniforms and every man is carrying a gun, so you can't tell the good guys from the bad guys, and if you turn your back on them they are likely to shoot you in the back, or blow themselves up to kill other innocent lives You need to think of what it is going to be like in the US if the present gun laws are curbed about what is allowed to be carried. With everyone carrying guns you will not know who is going to protect you or shoot you The slightest nudge into someone in a bad mood may just shoot you and say they thought you were attacking them It would be the wild west revisited, now in every city across the country That is more scary to me somehow Chetak

you can become a USM in 16 weeks well it takes 22 to train a regular British soldier and 32 for a Royal marine so do some research on the training before spouting off a load of drivel. the USMC rely heavily on other people to get them to battle well our lot can use there legs if needed in May 1982 Royal Marines and members of the Parachute regiment yomped over 56 miles carrying 120lb packs on their backs fighting battle after battle across the frozen peat marshes of East Falkland before Stanley was retaken on 14 June ask the USMC to do that they cant why? because they don't train for it

training for usmc 16 weeks, training for royal marine commandos 32 weeks, put to the test i wouldn't like to bet on the outcome, end of the day,if you have either on your *** then you have a problem that even the A team will back off from,on a serious note, does it matter?,they both do a job that demands far more then the average armchair soldier could contribute,usmc/rmc,all the same bloody good arsekickers,

Everybody who serves in a combat unit has a dangerous job. With that fact in mind you can not train somebody to think they are 2nd best.

It is good that they think that and better that we will probably never know because we are such good friends with Britain that it is hard to see how the two would ever fight.
