Stupidity is not a cancer..... I would say Ignorance is. Ignorance in the fact that yes marijuana is a drug and yes they have spread propoganda for years in order to keep the law in order. In order to get teacher, parents, police, clergy, etc... to spread the propoganda. To use your clergy to make you feel it is a sin when it is a viable medicine. They used to say it makes you dumb.... Now they are saying it can prevent alzheimers. I in no way condone children to use this substance but to criminilize it and to spend our precious resources to put people in jail for it is ludacris. The growers dont put a price tag on the plants the government does when they made it illegal. You can have any opinion you want as it is our God givin right but stop spreading your beliefs and telling people they are facts because that makes you the most ignorant of all!!!!!

I am not trying to get anyone to smoke pot. In fact to the contrary I believe it does make you lazy. I am just trying to live and let live. I believe in freedom.

There are pros and cons to the use of marijuana. However, since the most powerful of the negative aspects are quite minimal, I feel that the decision to use/not use should be left in the hands of the individual.
I have smoked previously, but have not for four years and have no plans to do so in the future. I have come to my own conclusions and decided that it was not for me. While I do see the addictive aspects - hear me out! - they are more mental than physical, unlike many other illegal drugs.
Even thinking in the government mindset - they are missing out on a goldmine. Legalize it, regulate growing facilities, and tax it, just like tobacco. That way, the crops are monitored, tested, and distributed to the public untainted (not laced with anything, etc) and accounted for...the price and tax will not only account for said growing/distribution (therein, creating more jobs...be it for war vets, immigrants, whatEVER), but free up the resources that are being used unwisely.
Children are missing. Women are being raped as I type, men are disappearing. People are being beaten for their beliefs. Did you feel that? Someone was just murdered, somewhere. And we are spending time, money, and manpower focusing on the stoners. WHAT?!?!?
I DO, however, believe that there should be consequences for certain things. People should not drive while stones, just as they should not drive drunk...and while I can't say that one effects the mind more than the other (as each mind is different), it alters the mind and, therefore, perception...and that puts others at risk, which is not an option, even if that risk is slight.
I can't imagine that smoking anything is necessarily good for you (thought I DO smoke tobacco), but I have seen in my own family how marijuana CAN BE the lesser of two evils.

Ummm... Drugs 'r bayud, mmkay?
Use anything regularly and you are subject to the ill effects.
In the case of Mary Jo Wanna, that means you are slow, sleep poorly, have disorganized thoughts, and generally fragile mental health and ability. Claiming anything else means you're high, and not thinking clearly! Breathing smoke is bad for your lungs (duh). Even burnt eucalyptus is bad for the lungs, though the vapor clears them.
On the pro's side. Getting high on weekends probably isn't any worse than a 12-pack over the same weekend. You just can't live on the stuff.
My favorite slippery slope is when the benefits of 'hemp' are used to promote legalization of marijuana, as if the plant used for textile production is the same one you smoke to get high... they aren't! Besides, there are far more and better materials for producing the same textile applications, like muslin, silk, and nylon.
Don't even get me started on absinthe. That's even worse as far as the extent of popularized disinformation goes.
My point is, if you wanna get high, be a freakin adult and just get high. Don't try to rationalize it by any half-baked (no pun intended) logic to make you feel better about your health, green-leanings, junk behavioral studies, or spiritual mumbo jumbo. That isn't any different than a drunk saying, 'well, at least booze is legal.' Take responsibility for your vices, and manage them responsibly. Sure, pot isn't legal, so just do it in your home. It's not like you can walk down the street drinking Wild Turkey and not expect to get picked up.
Trying to justify your vices just means you don't have them in hand. Get over it.

I prefer answering questions because points are gained whereas if I ask a question then I lose points. In fact, there were times that I got mean answers, especially from Top Contributors.

I don't understand why seeing as you mix it with tobacco in order to smoke it. If you do bongs then it shouldn't cause cancer but if they are saying that weed mixed with tobacco doesn't they are either lying or having us on about the dangers of cigarettes.
