i got this labrador dog.he likes hotdog.but someone told me that its a poison for them.how true?

Any food with lots of fat can make a dog sick. Especially when they are not used to lots of fat and their pancreas can overload and it becomes inflamed. It is called pancreatits..and once your dog gets it, they are suspetible for the rest of their lives and it is very expensive to treat such a chronic inflamation.So basically some people food is okay...but nothing fatty like pork and definitely no cooked bones..they splinter. Fruits and veggies would be great. Hotdogs would be fine as treat sometimes.. but I would try turkey dogs. Your friend sounds like they are just looking out for the health of your dog.

They are uninformed. Many people train with hot dogs. It should be considered a snack, though - ie no more then 10% of daily calories from all snacks combined and feed decreased proportionately.

Is a hot dog good for you? NO! Do you enjoy eating one, once in awhile? YES!
Same for your dog. No, it isn't poisonous ... it's not healthy, but it is not going to hurt your dog. Hot dogs are great for training-treats, or just as a once-in-a-while treat. OK, so we all try to behave and do what's healthy most of the time, right?
Honest, it won't hurt if it's just an occasional thing ... just not everyday, OK?

if you want a unheathly and over weight dog, keep feeding it hot dogs. so the answer is Nooo. No junk food for your buddy.

Its okay like every once in a while. But its really not good for their diet to feed them regularly.

Bad habit/idea alltogether. Poisonous? I would not doubt it. Think boiled chicken breast (never the bones, though).

its not really good for them because of all the sodium and fillers.. however a little bit of hot dog as an occasional treat is ok.
I certainly wouldnt feed my dogs hot dogs instead of dog food.. your dog would not get the proper nutitrion that way.

It's not relay all that great for them but If you only give it to them once in a while it wont hurt them.
