Spend some quite time with God before you go to sleep. Just talk to him like you would one of your good friends. He will listen and tell him everything and ask God to help you with this fear.

When I was a a teen ager, I'd been having bad dreams since I was a little girl (for reasons I won't go into here). One night I woke up from them terrified and all I could ask was "Help me" and it was like a loving hand came and stroked my head and told me everyhting would be alright from then on. The fear went away. I've always remembered that and from that point on that warmth has driven away the bad dreams.
I know it's maybe not the same for you but maybe if you think about someone's hand being there, maybe that would help.

Wow! What has made you fear so? Has something happened which makes you feel threatened?

What can you do? Cry out to God! Pray for His peace and strength. If you are not a Christian, pray and ask God to forgive you of your sins. To come into your heart and make it anew! Talk to Him as though you have always known Him, as He has certainly always known you!

Hun, God does NOT give us a spirit of fear! That is just one of satan's ploys. I truly, genuinely, hope that you will/have give/ given your life to the Lord. He loves you and desires all to come to Him.

I will be praying that God's will be done in your life. You are never alone as He is always with you.

Is there any rational basis for that belief? You know there is not. Take some Benedryl and read a book until you drop off to sleep. I guarantee you'll wake up tomorrow (but I suppose if I'm wrong you can sue me in the afterlife);)

First, Don't think so. Don't afraid of sleeping. There are many funny and sweet dreams in the sleep.

Live today as though it were your last. Pray, get right with Christ, forgive your enemies, tell the ones you love that you love them and you care. Kiss your family and friends on the cheek. Buy a plot under a tree and put a bench right next to it facing the sunset. We all must go some day, our task is to be ready when the time comes.

confess your worries to God. call on Him to help ease your mind.

take comfort in His word, when he says,

psalm 121
1 I look up to the mountains—
does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!
3 He will not let you stumble;
the one who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel
never slumbers or sleeps.

5 The Lord himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon at night.

7 The Lord keeps you from all harm
and watches over your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go,
both now and forever.

If you're afraid of dying in your sleep, don't be. That's one heck of a peaceful way to go. You won't even know that you're dead. It won't hurt any more than falling asleep in the first place. On that note, don't worry about it. If it's your time, there is nothing that you can do anyway. If you're healthy, you have nothing to worry about. If you're not healthy, I wish you the best in recovering from whatever is ailing you.

if you don't wake up, you......

A.) have an eternal sleep, how is that bad? sounds ok to me

B.) go off to a better world, most likely where some of your loved ones are

Bottom line: don't live life in fear, too short and not worth it you'll never accomplish what you want to if you do
