There is a 16 yr. old boy that I know of, who is really having a rough time at home. Mom & step dad treat him like crap. He really needs a loving home, we are willing to take him. His family found out he is gay. Step dad is really being mean, tells him to go wash his face with fecis and instead of calling him by name, calls him c_ _ k sucker out loud. His mom will not even talk to him or look at him, just shakes her head and says sicko as she walks away. This kid needs help, love and attention, not slander, meaness or bitterness. Any advice, I am tempted to just show up on their door step and tell them they don't deserve him and bring him home to my family to live. Help?

The 16 year old can petition to become an emancipated, which means he would be considered an adult and allowed to leave the home. You could ask his parents if they want him to actually be there anymore, and if not you would be willing to take him, if they don't want him they may very well let him go to live with you, however you can't just show up there and take him, that's considering kidnapping and you could be in a lot of trouble.

At 15 and 9 months here in australia, kids can leave home without parental consent. Consult government agencies about this problem and get their advice whether they can step in on your behalf. Abused children always come first. Your trying to help you sound like a great person.

YOU STAY AWAY FROM THE 16 YR OLD!

Your question is proof you are addicted to control...could be a stalker. Do you often refer to 16 yr. olds as children? That is not normal and it also isn't normal that you haven't had contact with the parents if you are sooooo concerned. Even if you did have contact would you have any respect for his parents as you are referring to him a child!

Stay out of it. If you were to show up and remove a minor, you will be charged with kidnapping. MYOB.
