No one has, as yet, answered the question. All I'm getting is justifications as to why you believe the way you do.

Would you believe the Bible to be the word of God, if you KNOW that even PARTS of it were translated INcorrectly???

> the Book of Mormon, so much for attention.

This is a question with no end. How do we know it was translated incorrectly? If it wasn't then the bible is not the perfect word of god. (uh oh)

There can be no positive answers from a christian point of view and only works to try and justify Mormonism.

For the most part, direct translations are very sound. Paraphrases are not. I am a KJV girl myself. One problem with English language Bibles is that we are missing a few verb forms that are in Hebrew and Greek. This can cause confusion for people who only study the Bible casually. I frequently use a Hebrew/Greek dictionary and concordance to check definitions and parts of speech, as well as a good lexicon. Sometimes I read the Bible in Spanish- they have some of the verb forms we are missing.

I do believe we can trust Christ as He said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." ( Matthew 24:35) For us to say there is no longer a correct translation of the Bible, God's Word, is to say that Christ either lied or was wrong When He said this. I don't think He was, do you?

In any event, there are so many manuscrpits that show us the Bible was in fact translated and transmitted correctly that we do not have to worry about accuracy. Unless, of course, you are talking about a watered down paraphrase like the Good News Bible, etc...

We will never have a 100% accurate bible translation that completely accurately reflects all the nuances of meaning in the original texts.

However, we can have confidence that the vast majority of the bible has been translated correctly by countless scholars over many years. We can look at different translations and compare them, we can even learn the original greek and hebrew at a site like blueletterbible.com

Overall I trust that the translation of the bible is reasonably accurate and improving all the time with increased scholarship & discovery of additional ancient manuscripts (like the Dead Sea scrolls)

The Bible mostly is translated incorrectly. Words dont always directly translate. Religion and the Bible shouldnt be about the words on the page but the meanings behind them. I cant say I believe everything the Bible says but I get the meaning behind them. Im sure you could argue about whats right and wrong then and how God wants us to treat eachother. The simple fact is God wants us to treat everyone as we would want to be treated. Be good to eachother. Pick any of the commandments...You dont want to die?..ok...dont kill anyone. You dont want someone sleeping with your wife....dont do it to someone else.

I do believe that it is quite likely that in many cases it was translated incorrectly. I also believe that while God inspired the writers of the Bible, and speaks through it in many instances, that some of what is written there comes from the minds of the men (primarily men) who wrote it. Not from God.

So while I believe that there is great wisdom there I am not someone that believes that the Bible is the inerrant word of God.

I believe the Bible to be the word of god the death sea scrolls prove the bible to be translated correctly. The writers of the bible were aspired by god to write what they did. Did you know the book of Mormon has over 4,000 changes to it?

Yes.

It has been documented by religious scholars that words have been changed, omitted or misspelled in the past, however that does not mean that the MEANING or intent has been changed.

I have found that when God is trying to convey something, it is usually repeated several times, therefore, if something has been mis-represented, the true meaning will still be there. Just take this for example, Jesus said "I say to you today you will be with me in Paradise." There is no punctuation in the bible and this one statement is completely changed by WHERE you put the comma, "I say to you today, you will be with me in Paradise." or "I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." to get the true understanding you must have a good relationship with God and read the ENTIRE bible and any other religious writings. You will then get the intended meanings.

God Bless!!

Who wrote the Bible??

Was it Jesus?? Was the Bible wording came from God, or was it inspired by Jesus actions?? Who put together the Bible?? Was the Bible ever reviewed?? Or was it, lets say Paul, who brought a couple of writings and said "These are the words of God"??

Well thank goodness for the original languages that the bible was written in are still around. So if you have a problem with a translation, just go to the originals. Which is a problem with that theory of yours.
