If there is biblical support to show that God did create us to evolve in the book of Genesis. With the lack of scientific training and knowledge when the book was written, would this make you pause that evolution was known thousands of years ago in a book people say is from God? Please dont flame, Im looking for some differing perspectives here.

Well this is just one, I dont have a definitive belief either way...just something I have been looking into; I have not done thorough research:
Gen 1:20
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl [that] may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

your question can not be answered as you wish by an Atheist, for the terminology of your question is contradictory to our belief: if there is biblical support? well the fact that Atheist have such antipathy toward the word of man ( commonly known as the bible) we can not under any circumstances, be hypothetical of its validity /claim to be truth, for this would go against our beliefs and just throws out questions that are irrelevant. There is no scientific/biblical support for the existence of a God. I believe you have to look at the bible for what it is, the word of man, written by people in 1800 years ago through fear and superstition, their God is a myth.

Please remember, Darwin said he could find that evolution occured on this earth, but not that it applied to man.
Also, Darwin's greatest ally forfeited his belief of evolution because he was an atheist. He explained, for a species to evolve it had to first be determined that if that species didn't change it would become extinct. i.e. improved eyesight, an opposing thumb. yada yada yada.
So, he asked the obvious question...Who did the determining?
Determining brings in intellect, understanding and forethought. At that point you are bringing in a higher consciousness and therefore, probably, a God of some kind, whether humanoid or spirit. So, he had abondoned evolution. Why don't you do the same before you have to commit that God exists.
Also, please remember, while we claim to be so advanced:
1. We cannot duplicate a pyramid. Egypt has a contest every year and it hasn't been done yet.
2. We discovered M-State Metals within the last 15 years. Egypt and others manufactured these metals and also understood that they opened up other dimensions.
3. The Sumarians were aware of the Double Helix and have drawings to prove it that are around 6000 years old. They also knew that this Double Helix was how all life was determined. We recently discovered DNA and the Double Helix. We're not so bright I guess.
4. A functioning aero dynamic model was found in a pyramid. It was also documented in Stephen Spielberg's book "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
So, take a moment and educate yourselves with all of the wonderful information out there. God is real. Whether the Bible is a true representation of what went on isn't really that important to me. I haven't found much in Genesis that applies to my life. I pretty much leave it alone and honor my God and my existence through the proper treatment of His creation.
Peace and love my brethren, I'm out.
Bye.

Note that Genesis describes God as having created existence in 6 days, resting on the 7th. Later, in the books of the old testament, is a line stating that a thousand years to humanity is as one day to God. This leads me to conclude that evolution cannot be ruled out by any purporter of Christo-Judaeo-Islamic theology (the core-3 monotheisms). Evolution through the process of natural selection cannot be disproven by any form of emotionally pragmatic dogma. Of course, the statement that 1000 years is as 1 day cannot be proven 100% accurate, by any means. It does, however, allude to the point (and now known fact) that the earth and universe existed far longer than humankind, and not just by a matter of days.
Also, Phoenix has a very interesting take on the "man - image of God" theory. Though, perhaps this statement was not intended to mean "in the physical sense", but rather in an "intellectual sense". This could be be demonstrated by the obvious difference in the complexities of a human's thought process in comparison to that of, let's say, a dog's thought process.

It is recorded in the Bible how God by His power brought about creation. Either we believe God has the power to do exactly what the Bible said He did and how it said He did it, in the time allotted, or we do not believe God has the power, and think we humans know better how creation began.
I believe the Bible's account of creation is literal, God made everything in 6 days and on the 7th He rested. The only flexibility comes in the statement that to God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day.
Other than that, if God is all powerful (absolute power), and all knowing (absolute knowledge), and ever present (all places at once) then there is nothing beyond His authority or ability and compromising our belief in what God can do, based upon some unprovable human theories is shortsighted to say the least.
Scientists cannot prove their version of creation, yet people are fooled into believing their version, their "theories" which continue to be discredited or dis proven outright. Science cannot prove species to species evolution which is the key to their theory of life's existence...so why would anyone in their right mind accept such a mundane idea that we evolved randomly from muck, and somehow miraculously developed into "male" and "female" beings of the exact same species...randomly (random is without pattern or purpose, purpose = designed intent), that just happened to be specifically designed for "each other" in order to procreate and continue the species. It's much more logical to believe God. He designed man and woman for each other, told us to be fruitful and multiply. It takes much more faith to believe human theories than it does to believe that Almighty God created us according to His plan and purpose.

Sure, if people thousands of years ago wrote about evolution then that would suggest that evolution was known thousands of years ago. Or at least suspected.
But if by 'Biblical support' you mean an ambiguously phrased sentence in a version that's been translated and edited dozens of times, and until now has been interpreted as meaning something entirely different, then that would be evidence of absolutely nothing.
The passage you've quoted, for example, makes absolutely no reference to the process by which beneficial genetic traits spread throughout a population by natural selection.

No, Genesis says that God created everything simulteanously and that all the life created isn't supposed to change because since it's God's creation, you can't improve on perfection.
This contrasts a lot with what evolution has to say about how life changes and how it came from an original common ancestor around four billion years ago, not six thousand years ago.

You've got to give the Bible lots of leeway if you're going to try to use its creation account... because there are two of them and they contradict each other
First Account (Genesis 1:1-2:3)
Humans were created after the other animals
The first man and woman were created simultaneously
Second Account (Genesis 2:4-25)
Humans were created before the other animals
The man was created first, then the animals, then the woman from the man's rib

People need to look at the books of the bible, the quoran, and other religious writing for what they are: propaganda. They were written to garner support for a cause and to rally people around a common belief as a way to hold a society together. They were invented by man, not a god.
So constantly referring to the bible, finding quotes that support a view of this or that, is frivolous.

Many believers think evolution is the way God creates. It makes sense. I doubt seriously if man would have been able to comprehend evolution. They thought God wanted people to be stoned to death for sin.
