In the United States, we do take clean water for granted, but I hope that it will never be gone in the US. If we continue letting our population grow, we may run out one day, especially here in California where it only rains so much each year.

Many methods of producing clean water have been and will be devised. But we are short sighted enough that we will eventually run out of the necessary energy and materials to produce potable water as the energy is used increasingly for things of higher (yes, higher ) priority for a burgeoning population.

Americans, certainly. They see everything they want as their birthright. Many areas like the Sudan have been out or nearly out of water for some time. I'm sure they take it seriously. It would be nice if some countries were smarter than others and would heed their example, but it's more like a stupidity contest.

In NATURE there is no such thing as 'clean' water as we normally mean the term!!

ALL water in nature has SOME contamination, whether or not it is a dangerous contamination (to man) is the concern.

MOST animals can use water, and other things found in nature, that would NOT be useable by 'modern' man.
