Not let them get inside your head, if they are trying to get in your head and notice you are not worried then they are going to get nervous

Humm; I have used a number of different things in the past to get into my opponent's head and here are just a few of them.
I sometimes start talking to them about the weather. If they are not concentrating on me and the match then it sometimes gives me a few seconds of opportunity to score on them while they think about this nut that is talking to them about the weather. Another ploy I have used is when warming up at a tournament and if I know some of the other fighters are watching me I will throw all kicks or all hand combinations. I will throw anything but what I intend on throwing in my matches and I will warm up fighting out of my right side. Then when my matches take place they are a little less prepared for someone fighting out of his left side and some of the techniques or combinations that they were expecting to see. Also saying things openly like I have an injury or don't feel well (when you actually don't have an injury or feel great) sometimes lulls them into a false sense of security and the expectation of an easy match. Another technique I have used is to look at the floor when fighting them and it can be a little distracting to an inexperienced fighter to be fighting this guy that is just looking at the floor.

Fear.
I've seen many boxer or muay thai fighter let fear get the best of them. Even though technically better than the opponent they were facing they got their a s s kicked because fear of the opponent got the best of them. I think that inspiring fear is one of the most useful tools you have

practice showing a calm outward appearance. no pacing like a caged animal. a calm mind cannot live in a tense body. so if you look calm, you will be focusing on that and not allowing your opponent to believe you are nervous.
tense body=tense mind.
calm body=calm mind.
and its the calm mind that has the experience.
on teh street it has been the way out of trouble as teh other guy hasnt been keen on testing me.
act freaked and you give them the confidence.
act contrary to the natural order of things and it creates uncertainty in your opponent.
this can help. but once it starts its all about skill. screw up and any advantage you had mentally will evaporate.

I use a shrink gun unto myself, while in this microscopic state I enter my opponent's ear canal, one of the blood vessels leads to the head.

In my tournament days I would reach over and take his right hand and shake it while saying "good luck pal" then I would step back to the line and smash my right fist into my left palm with a big grin.
My whole attitude was "I am wishing you luck because you are going to need it"
Not important whether I beleived it or not but that they did and most did.

Do not make any sudden movments, in fact when you face your opponent you shouldnt be moving at all. Center yourself and listen to only your heartbeat.
