I'm 20, but how old do you think someone should be before they're allowed to date? i believe in 16, because honestly, who wants to have their parents pick up a girl and drop them off, and then pick them up again? I did that for my 8th grade dance. Even 6 years ago it was HORRIBLE!!!

i wanted to say i'm asking out of curiosity. I don't want to date a teenager. I want only opinions. I've been old enough to date for 5 years.

Legally 16 as you said, and it should be left at that. But for some families and people the parents decide. I personally, think the right age I would allow my kids to date is at 18, because that way they are adults and can get into all that adult stuff with someone I hope is reasonably around their own age. And if they so choose and have a job and car, they can move out on their own to have the sexual relations and such. I know it may seem harsh to some people but who really wants to hear that their a bad parent if their kid got someone else's child pregnant while they were over your house, or raped someone even. I don't want any liabilities like that on my back. So I say when they are adult enough to handle all aspects of dating in a mature way. That way nothing is reflected back on me.

I also reckon 16 :). But that's because of all the laws these days. I'm not saying that everyone would have intercourse on their first date but many ppl under 16 wouldn't know how to defend themselves if worse gets worst...

I think if you have a drivers license you should be able to go out on a date.
My daughter was irresponsible and immature, and I did not let her get a license until she was 18.
