Petco does not sell dogs. It works with adoption agencies to find homes for homeless pets.

Petfinder.com currently has 6222 terriers and terrier mixes available for adoption. I did a search for California. Enter your own zip code to find shelters near you.

Contact the breed club. NEVER BUY FROM A PETSTORE! They are 99.9% puppymill puppies. Go to www.petfinder.com and do a search on your breed. Once you find a breeder this is a good site to help determine if they are reputable or not: http://www.qualitydogs.com/choosingbreeder.asp If you go to the left and click on breed profiles, then the breed you are interested in, it sometimes lists breeders also. Remember also, there are only two all-breed registeries that are worth a crap in the US. One is AKC. The other is UKC. Anything other than these two is practically screaming "disreputable breeder". Also, on the webpage posted, when you are in breed profiles, there wioll be a list of genetic tests reputable breeders of your breed does, like OFA and CERF certification. If the breeder doesn't do that, or doesn't know what they are, RUN AWAY. Good luck finding just the right pet for your household.

Please dont buy dogs. Adopt them. If you want a dog since your a animal lover your just letting another dog die. You know? When you adopt a dog its been in harsh condition it just needs some love. Buying dogs litreally means I want a dog to show off with not love. Litrelly every day adoption centers are killing thousands of dogs. While stores are just ... ugh.
Please adopt and care.

Go to the humane society and adopt!

Or if you REALLY want a full breed, look in the newspaper.

You can adopt them at the pet shelters that are run by the city.
