Allergies are generally diagnosed with a medical history and physical examination. Blood tests and skin testing can be done to identify specific allergens.

They can test for somethings, but not for others. Definitely see a doctor.

Track your symptoms to try to isolate a possible cause: keep a diary of food you eat, chemicals you're exposed to, and/or environmental conditions (went to a smokey bar, Weather channel said "high pollen count today") and see how your exposures match your symptoms.

Don't wait, especially if it's an allergy that causes anaphalaxis (fast, sudden swelling of the wind pipe). That can be deadly.

Good luck!
