You're stimulating stretch receptors. Try injecting a bit more slowly. Fast stab, slow injection is usually the combination that makes for the least painful shot.

UMM YOU ARE INJECTING IT YOURSELF?
HMM
IF it does it could be from the skin cleaner you used before you did the shot?
Best to let a doctor do the treatment and keep track of how much your intake is along with some blood work to know if you even need it.

most shots sting, nothing to worry about...sometimes, if the solution is COLD, it hurts a bit, too!
