Actually, I don't own a cell phone, but I have links to the Bible on my laptop which I carry to work every day. I enjoy looking up Scripture for reference.
And you know, the interesting thing is, no matter how many times you read a Scripture, it always has new meaning when you read it again. No one can ever understand the depth of God's Word.
I am particularly interested in the studies of creation and how the Bible reflects all the findings we are slowly discovering.
I love listening to this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byqRyMtxfCs&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fblog%2E360%2Eyahoo%2Ecom%2Fblog%2DpBCChAo%5FerKrH%5FvYBohJv6omTvlkI8tSRg%2D%2D%3Fcq%3D1
Something most people overlook is that during the great flood with Noah, the water burst forth from the deep and opened the windows of heaven. The water burst forth - like a giant volcano. There are some great studies about this topic alone.
Then how about the giants. Where did they come from?
Do you ever wonder what Adam and Eve looked like? How about the Garden of Eden? Do you think it was like Heaven? Where was it and did Adam and Eve ever cook or just frolic through the Garden picking fruits and berries? Did they have pets? Did God give them the knowledge of language and if so, was it Hebrew? Wouldn't it have been wonderful to see the great dinosaurs before the flood?
The Bible is so extremely full of history - if we just take the time to read it for what it really says.
Kait, I would love to hear what kind of electronic Bible you have. Something people don't realize is that in today's day and age, we don't need to carry a separate Bible when there are so many online or electronic formats like the one you mention so you can read it without being connected to the internet.

Cute...
I lose my cell phone, leave it behind, I haven't even begun to read the entire manual it came with, nor can I recall my own phone number at times. I don't write on it, nor have I bothered to memorize any of the instruction manual, although I have learned some of the basic functions I am not really interested in learning how to text messages. It gets silenced when I don't want to hear from anyone and I really resent the payment plan... too expensive.
As for my Bible, it goes everywhere I go... it has marks in it and the pages are wearing out (my second in 6 years), I have memorized a few passages and am eager to learn all I can to grow ever closer to the author and finisher of my faith. I want to hear from Him, and the payment plan... well I've been bought with the blood of Jesus and yes... it's a far greater price than I could ever pay, but if I could it wouldn't be enough for the promise of everlasting life and love and worship of the Creator, my heavenly father God.

I have the King James Version on my palm pilot and on my computer. I use my palm and my cell phone quite a bit at work (I'm a realtor) and can take brief snippets now and then to read a verse or 2. I also use it in church. My laptop bible is good for home, office and study but a little cumbersome in church. I want the availability of scripture at my hands at all times and this was the best way to do it.

We would be on fire for God and sharp as that two edged sword of course! If I had a laptop with a proper working battery on it, I would. I can say this because I did until around 3 months ago. I can arrange the pages so the letters are large enough to read and me and my e-sword would go to town and go to work. I had all the scripture and commentary at a click of the mouse pad. Sure do miss it.
I use to carry my laptop around everywhere I went and used it for Ministry. The battery went dead and because it is a few years old the battery for this thing almost cost as much as the laptop when I bought it.
Maybe one day I'll be able to get me another (cyberbible,) but until then I guess its back to wearing thick glasses and flipping pages. I sure do miss my ole laptop.

Very good question! What would happen? Not much; people would just think we were a Jehovah Witness. But for me, I do carry a Bible in my car and did have a little one in my purse, but it got ragged. Also used to carry spare NT in my car to hand out at Christmas times to the people carrying signs on the roads "Will work for food". Hubby and I would go buy them a McDonald's meal and stop and give it to them with a free bible. They always seemed elated and never rejected the Bible. We've run out, so time to buy more.

You Go Girl !!! This Is an awesome observation ! God Is using you tonight ! If we carried our Bibles like our beloved cell phones our life would be heaven on earth ! We can't seem to leave home without them or we feel lost completetly. This Is how we should feel about our Bible and storing the Word In our heart. I can remember growing up not having a cell phone or a computer and I actually didn't die from the lack of either one. Our Bible (word of God ) should as close to our heart and In It, as our cell phone Is on our side.

If I cared for my bible like my cell phone, I'd drop mine more, and the battery would run down alot and I'd not be able to use it when I needed to or wanted to, so I'd prefer not to treat or care for my bible like I do my cell phone.
I like the idea of the comparision of the cell phone to the Bible. It is a means of communication, yes, however unlike a cell phone the Bible is a one-way line of communication more like a radio than a cell phone. Unlike my alltel provider, God never disconnects me since my bill has been paid already.

WooHOO! Amen! If we carried our Bibles, I believe that it would be a show of support for those who love the Lord! In fact, someone carrying a Bible is a walking testimony, in my opinion. It certainly makes a statement about where our heart belongs...to our Creator, God the Father.
Amen to the priorities! Great question!!

I have a little electronic Bible that never leaves me. It is about the size of a cell phone and it fits in my pocket or purse. It is the old and the new tesament with a concordance. It's just great for looking things up in a flash. I would not be without it. It goes everywhere with me.

Super good question! But along with caring for it, we would need to actually use it like we do the cell phones. Open it up all the time and check the messages, ect....
