my frends say dont get it becuz its has bugs in it or something like dat? wats wrong wit it? i wanna kno b4 i buy it?

Your friend doesn't seem to be able to tell which console has problems. The PS3 is the most reliable console in the next generation systems, it's failure rate is between 0.03 and 0.05% while the 360's fail rate is 33%. If anything what your friend is describing is what happens to a 360 not a PS3. Besides the PS3 will blow the 360 out of the water in the future. Also if you venture to YouTube there are videos of people putting PS3's through extreme hot and cold and they come out working perfectly as if they were brand new. Try that with a 360 and it's guaranteed to be destroyed.

first you got to ask yourself...does your friend have a ps3? does he own an xbox360? people who don't like xbox will say alot of stuff about the ps3 and say they suck and no games and everything else. well let me tell you they sold more than 360 did in the first 6 months. ps3 has a year warranty so buy it and if something happen in a year sony fix it...no big deal. as a guy mention there are also updates that sony offer for FREE and they fix minor bugs and IMPROVE your ps3. if you don't choose to sign on the ps3 using your internet you can use a usb from your computer and transfer it to your computer that way...that the awesome thing about sony they thought it through before putting it on the shelf...games are coming out and right now i'm back up because it like every month a new game is coming out and i can't finish one game because i only play my ps3 on the weekend.....sometime but rarely on the weekend...anyways it awesome i haven't had a problem only thing that suck about the ps3 is the 2 cord one to the tv and one to the outlet....EVERYTHING ELSE IS WIRELESS...internet, controller, and of course headset*

360 has a 1/3 of 360 breaking down and that extended their warranty to 3 years because they can't figure out what wrong with their console and the red eye.....go to xbox question one of the number one question on there is "how long before i get my xbox back" i even got a best answer for answering some of them.....lol

Second: The only thing wrong with the PS3 is its lack of good games.

Basically every good game can be found on other consoles as well. And on the Xbox 360 with better graphics no less.

However, if you want to play your old PS2 games on it:
The latest PS3 models are missing a hardware chip to simulate the PS2.
Now all games are being run on an emulated PS2 wich causes a lot of games to not work correctly.

And the online features (albeit free), aren't that great.
Basically you need to play the same game to find out if your online friend is playing online and to contact him.

I'd recommend getting the Xbox 360 if you need some High Definition gaming.

There are no issues with the ps3 we have had ours running 24 hours a day for 6 months now.....When we are not playing games we are running the folding@home find a cure for cancer program....So your friend is either jealous or saddly mistaken ...the 360 has a 33% hardware failure rate....We own all three and have gone through 3 360s .... We test them for a private company and the ps3 and wii are very reliable...

Ur friend got it all wrong.......Its the xbox360 that has the bugs not ps3. Once u get the ring of death lights showing it means hardware failure and u have to send back the xb360 to MS to get it fixed. Ps3 is the most reliable nextgen console.

You should take what your friend is saying with a grain of salt.. does he own a ps3? Has he even used one? Probably not..it sounds like he heard it from someone who heard it from someone who heard it from a cracked out whore..

And to answer your question bluntly.. the ps3 is very stable. Its counter against any "bugs" (which there are almost none) are firmware updates, data backups.. and factory restore.. thus a software bug is almost completely reversible and never permanently damaging.
