Yes.

Now if we could just get conservatives to be moral...

The answer is highly dependant on what moral system you are using to determine morality. Different systems will obviously give a different answer and reasons why or why not.

Personally, I'd say that allowing poverty is a many sided issue, it is the responsiblitiy of people, society and government to help the poor on the other hand, the poor also need to put effort into trying to improve their situation. There is also the question of what level poor is, or how poor is poor.

War is a whole different story. Most of the time it is fought for poor reasons and that should be considered immoral. Even in a moral war, there are actions that are more or less moral.

Yes, and no.

Poverty is only a moral issue if you don't try to help (like denying health care from the poor.. like the Republicans support). Other than that, poverty is a social issue, not a moral one.

War is a moral issue almost all the time, though a person that defends their family and loved ones are not the ones doing wrong (so long as they don't take revenge), its the attackers that are morally wrong.

So they are both and neither.

Yes, but then almost everything is a moral issue ultimately. Not everything, but far more than most people think. That doesn't mean, by the way, that you should always come down on the side of the mindless idiots who want to pour more money into failed social programs or (worse) who have bumper stickers says "there was never a good war or a bad peace." Just that you have to consider all sides of the issue in a moral framework. Please contact me directly if you would like to talk more.

No, sadly they are societal conditions created by incorrect handling of moral issues. When we get our morals right, these conditions begin to recede.

As a Christian, I have hope of a final solution to these ills. But I realize not all will agree with me. In the meantime, we all need to work towards eliminating poverty and warfare. Christians call this "advancing the Kingdom of God."

Grace and peace!

War is definately (in my opinion) a moral issue. I don't see how going out and killing someone (on either side) is a good thing. Diplomacy should be the way to go rather than warfare.

Poverty to some extent yes and to some no. I feel those who can afford to should help those worse off but those whom are in poverty should be expected to attempt to do something for themselves. I sponser a child in Tanzania but I won't sponser a child in my country because I feel that there is plenty of help available to those who ask for it.

There isn't one issue that isn't a moral issue... Our whole Culture's everythings are moral based... Christianinsanity has this human race's reigns, and is leading us by the collar into hell's great gullet.. because Religion hasn't even the first clue how immortality works... Religion is just a multiscam for money... Religion's ineptness dooms their followers to hell...

Yes, because rich people think that just because they have money means that everyone should be able to make as much money as they do; What the rich don't understand is that the poor are going to be at a disadvantage impeded by society.

....or the rich people are too greedy to care about the poor people.

Yea. There is no reason for either. There is enough food in the world to feed the world. There is enough wealth in the world that poverty should not. Why do we fight? Greed.

Ecc 1:9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.

History is full of the HAVEs and the HAVE NOTs, you really cannot have one without the other.

War is as it has always been, the RICH get RICHER, and its population control for the peasants.
