I wonder how members can overlook the false predictions (that would be prophecies) of Joseph Smith and still follow his teachings.

Never mind the "Golden Scrolls" that were written in a funky egyptian language that was interpreted only by Smith, I would apply the standard of a prophet as told in the Old Testament and question why he is revered as a prophet given the fact that he missed and was wrong on many.

I think the Mormon people are good people in society, with wonderful family beliefs. Although, having learned about the beliefs, I wonder if any of those people have common sense?!?! I don't want to be mean, but it all sounds ridiculous to me. I have Mormon friends who I have discussed things with, and the sad part is that they don't even know what they believe in. I would ask them a question and they would say they don't know but would discuss it with their teacher. Having come back with an even sillier explanation. Having said this, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and they are not hurting anyone. I just personally believe they are very off track...

There are good Mormons, and not so good Mormons. Most try to live their beliefs. A few are wackos who take things to the extremes.

First off there has never been a Mormon that has forced a child into marriage and not been punished (excommunication or lawfully punished) Also Mitt Romney is not controlled by his religion and infact he's the only one of the frontrunners who has only had one wife and not been through divorce like some of the rest!

Mormons are sheep.
"Just wanna be a sheep"
Chorus
I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa
I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
I just wanna be a sheep
Baa, baa, baa, baa,

Verse 1
Don't wanna be a goat…nope
Don't wanna be a goat…nope
Haven't got any hope…nope
Don't wanna be a goat…nope

Verse 2
Don't wanna be a hypocrite
Don't wanna be a hypocrite
'Cause they're not hip to it
Don't wanna be a hypocrite

Verse 3
Don't wanna be a Pharisee
Don't wanna be a Pharisee
'Cause they're not fair you see
Don't wanna be a Pharisee

Verse 4
Don't wanna be a Sadducee
Don't wanna be a Sadducee
'Cause they're so sad you see
Don't wanna be a Sadducee

Verse 5
Just wanna be a child of God
Just wanna be a child of God
Walkin' the same path He trod
Just wanna be a child of God

Mormons are peachy keen! lol...

Seriously, to the poster who said we force little girls into marriage...that's funny seeing as how we don't let kids even DATE until they're 16!!!

It really upsets me how people get LDS mixed up with the fundamentalists....really upsetting...

Megadave is freaking rad! Even though LDS are Christians...I'm glad he stuck up for us when no one else was!

I have nothing against them. I personally don't know that much about the LDS faith, certainly not enough to say anything bad about them. Love Yahoo !!! wanna be a Princess, is LDS and I think she is a sweetheart. They are entitled to their beliefs just like everyone else.

Most that I've met have been really nice, sincere, honest, and all sorts of great. I've met a few "bad apples."

the straight-edge lifestyle gets my thumbs-up. Not sure about the rest of it, though.
