It will also depend on who publishes is, what size of print, and how large the page is on the bible in question.

I use only the King James Version of the Bible & page 1281 begins with Acts 27, verse 30, which says:
"And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under color as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship...
Acts 27 & 28 concerns the shipwreck of Paul's ship)

Sorry, I haven't got that particular Bible.
In my Bible, page 1281 covers Luke 4:28 through Luke 5:5. In Luke 4 Jesus goes to the synagogue and announces he is the promised Messiah. In the first part of chapter 5, Jesus calls Simon Peter to be a fisher of men.

All Bibles are different. I have a LARGE PRINT Bible so my page 1281 is going to be different then some one with a smaller print Bible. Some Bibles have a realliy wide margin for taking notes while others have thin margins.....a Bible with wide margins is going to have something different on page 1281 then a Bible with thin margins.

Sounds like you're up a creek. Maybe if you knew the book and chapter, I'd be able to help you.
