no I didn't get hit...

BUT... I do carry a heavy backpack...

My laptop + notebooks + books...
Since I'm an engineering major... I need my books for exercises n stuff...

@iceman...
lol... hip...
in our school... everyone carries their backpack on both shoulders... be it nerd or not :D

so... I carry mine on both shoulders too... :)
I'd be crushed in a day if I tried to carry it on one shoulder :D

n I do try to take the least amount of stuff to school... but since I commute... I have no other choice...

Please see a doctor soon.

Did you get hit? or do carry a heavy bag pack for school?
Extreme exercise? Allergy (if not very deep)?

Edit: OK, OK don't worry, it's so interesting, I'm an ENG. and this exact scenario happened to me.
OK, You probably carry your bag pack, on your left shoulder.
(I know looks hip), rather than normal way using both sides
(looks kind of nerd),
OK if that's the case your mussels between your ribs are pinched. Solution: Try to lighten the bag, and start using your right side for a week. But do see a Dr asap?
Let us know the results.

Regards

Hopefully it is nothing more than the accumulation of a concussive force built up by your bag. I would actually suggest you move your appointment forward for as soon as possible, if this has been going on for a number of weeks. In the meantime, take the time to catch up with your reading and catch up with some engineering journals online. This way you will be resting but still be doing some study.

Sister, if this in front side, I means on left side of your chest, below ribs, it may be problem in stomach, acidity or gastric.
Try to keep your chest straight up wards, while sitting on computer/chair or sleep on bed facing down, for few minutes, some time some air gets entrapped in our stomach that could not pass out easily due to infection on upper part of our stomach.
see your DR. as well.

If the pain is in your back it could be your kidneys. You may have a kidney stone.
