I don't really get how this whole thing works :P
So lets say I go on a diet and eat 1200 calories a day... I'll lost about a pound a week, right? How long will I continue to lose weight though? I mean, I won't keep losing forever until I weigh like, 60 pounds (not that I want to be 60 pounds, just to add that) How long should I expect to lose a pound a week for? When will it stop!? Sorry, I know I ask a lot of questions :P Please helpp! Well, if it helps,
I weight 125 pounds and i'm 5'6, thanks :) (L)

You will loose weight until your body reaches a point where it starts cannibalizing muscle tissue. Your body will slow you metabolism to help conserve energy. When you body enters this stage your health is in danger. Basically, when you get to what you body says is a below normal weight for you it will attempt to shut down until you eat more.

Hopefully, you're just asking this question for general knowledge. You don't need to lose any weight. You are the perfect weight for your height. And yes if you keep on a low calorie diet for as long as possible you will keep losing weight, well first your body will try to resist but after awhile you will lose alot of weight. 1200 calories is too low, anyhow. Go for 1500.

I don't understand why your wanting to lose weight, your just about average. But if you must, start out with 5 lbs and see how you like it. You don't need to lose too much, your a growing girl. But also keep in mind as food for thought.. if you lose too much weight, that also effects the size of your breast and butt. Those will be the first to go when losing weight. Not completely, but believe me. They will shrink.

The less you weigh, the less you will have to eat to maintain your weight. If you're interested on losing weight, don't starve yourself, but eat 200-400 calories less then your maintenance calories.
