I take medication for depression. When I wasn't on any medication my depression stayed. I missed a month of work, didn't get out of bed. I really had to struggle to interact with my children. I had NO, and I stress NO sexual desire. I started taking anti depressants about two months ago and I feel a lot better, but the sadness does still come and go, but when it does come, it doesn't stay as long. I hope that helps. Prayer helps too!

We're pretty much depressed all the time. At some times, it's not as bad, but we're still depressed. Sometimes it's so bad that we just start crying. If you're really sad, and then, all of a sudden, you're really happy, you probably are Bipolar or have Manic Depression.

I have been dx with severe clinical depression. Before I was in treatment I was always in a low, profound , depressed state.
Now the depression comes on in waves for me. Something triggers it and i sink down again, not being able to control the depression even on medication. Those times I am not able to unction, or get out of bed. It still happens, however, not as consistent anymore.

I'm always depressed all of the time, even with my medication. I also have horrible nightmares every single night and they never go away either. Don't know why, don't know why Dr's can't fix it.
I have Major Depression and I have to be careful what movies or TV I watch because that can put me in a bad state for days. Like not getting out of bed, not washing or brushing me teeth, just to tired to move.

it ebbs and flows like waves -- with therapy and medication you can get the waves to even out a bit so that the highs aren't so high and the lows aren't so low...and so that the midpoints last longer and longer ...
Depression is hard to explain to someone who doesn't have it -- this could be because people associate the word depression with sadness and grief -- which are not necessarily what depressed people are experiencing.

Not necessarily. Sometimes depression is a sign of something more like BiPolar Depression, in which you are depressed sometimes and up other times. If you have questions about if you are depressed or not, please see a doctor.

depressed people have different situations...
if they are under bad circumstances every second then they are depresed all the time
if they still have some happiness left then the thing thats depressing them will make them be depressed only on a few specific times
