The thing about God is even though He is powerful and loving He is above all things.. Righteous.
It is out of His Righteousness that He faithfully forgives us of our sins cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
This Lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8... Even Before the fall the Lamb was predestinated to be slain. But why?
Of the three statues that our Lord Jesus died.
One was as the Lamb of God to take away our sins ( John 1:29)
He also died as the Brass Serpent to deal with the serpentine nature in us and to deal a death blow to the old serpent satan.( John 3:14) These are both on the negative side..
But
On the positive side.. He died as the Grain of Wheat that fell into the earth to die in order to produce the " many grains' ( JOhn 12:24)
There is an interesting verse in the Book of Romans 8:29
" Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers"
Unless the Lord died to release the divine Life of the Father to us we had no way of becoming these predestinated many sons of God.
Christ is the Firstborn in Resurrection. After Resurrection He was able to appear to the Disciples in John 20:22 and say to them' peace be unto you..' then the Lord did something amazing.. He breathe into them and said" Receive the Holy SPirit'
This is the sonship. Originally we were just creatures of God.. but through Christ's death and resurrection we can be the sons of God ( Romans 8:14)... by calling upon His name.
We have received a spirit of Sonship.( Romans 8:15) Where Jesus Christ is no longer the ONLY Begotten Son.. but now He brings with Him many brothers into the bosom of the Father..
Sons and Heirs to God.
Crushing satan under thier feet and carrying out God's purpose on the earth.
Had He not died none of this would be possible.
The grain of wheat had to die first to release all the life hidden in His being to us.
John 10:10b
" I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly'

How could God forgive his requirements by any means other than being payed? If he were not paid back in full for what he was owed, would he not be eternally hurt? His requirements must be payed, and the payment with the life of a sacrifice instead of our own is the way in which he is able to forgive us of our debt of life. "For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul." (Lev 17:11) So too is the reason why Jesus did what he did, as a payment to God with his own life instead of our own. "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." (Mat 26:28)

No. Jesus did not have to die. But He chose to do so. Why? Because He loves every human being, including you and me. He could of left things just as they were. But there was never any sacrifice that was pure enough to cleanse us from our sins forevermore. That is why they had to continue offering sacrifices for sin all throughout the Old Testament. But Jesus decided that He would come to earth and offer his life for the sins of all mankind. For his blood was the only blood that was ever pure enough to cover our sins forevermore. God could of just left his Son out of the matter. But we every one would be in horrible shape if He had chosen to do so. You should be thankful unto Jesus Christ every single day of your life, for loving you and me enough to come to the earth to die for our sins. You are exactly right about one thing; and that is that God is all powerful. But God is also purely righteous. And He cannot look upon sin. That is why every Christian becomes righteous in the sight of God the Father when they receive Jesus as their personal Savior. Jesus took upon Himself our unrighteousness, and allowed us to receive by faith his righteousness. And when God the Father looks at us after we become Christians, He sees the righteousness of Jesus; not our own unrighteousness. Let us forever be thankful unto Jesus for choosing to come to the earth and die for our sins, and save our souls.

Since the beginning of time it was the shedding of innocent blood that covered sin. Who but Jesus could shed truly innocent blood to wash away the sins of the world? And it wasn't just His death that was important. Only Jesus could resurrect Himself, defeating not only death, but satan as well. One day every knee shall bend to proclaim Jesus King of kings and Lord of lords.

No, God can not be in the presence of sin. Adam and Eve broke their relationship with God through sin. Through the death of Jesus....being part man and part God, it brought believers back into relationship with God. Jesus, because he was also human, knows what we go through on earth and because he is human he can communicate with us and because he is also God he can communicate with God...restoring the relationship between us and God.

That would marginalize his judicial nature. The cross portrays God's grace in balance with his judicial nature.

Wouldn't the whole 'I made my son suffer and then die for you - can't you see how much I love you, now?' kind of thing be considered psychopathic in today's world?
