God creates the universe and crowns it with the creation of the human race in paradise. The human race rejects God (sins) & God ejects them from paradise but promises to fix the problem of sin in the future through the seed of a woman.

Fast foward several generations:

God chooses one man who is faithful to him (Abraham) and calls him to leave everything he knows and go to a land that he will provide to him(promised land). God promises Abraham that through him all the nations of the earth will be blessed. Out of Abraham are born the Jews. The Jews get enslaved in Egypt but then God rescues them from Egypt by many miracles and begins to give the Promised Land to them. He also establishes an elaborate system of worship of himself (including a tabernacle & ephod etc) & a system of law that the Jews are to live by. The Jews are lead by judges who simply settle disputes among them.

But after a while the Jews demand a king, so God appoints some kings over them. David is the major one. God promises David that through him there will be one born the Messiah. Who will rule all people forever.

David writes many songs about God (Psalms) David's son Solomon writes many wise Proverbs to live by. The kingdom of Israel experiences infighting and rejects the worship of God. God sends many prophets & judges to help Israel get back on track, but they keep rejecting him. So God sends the Jews into captivity in Babylon.

Prophets continue to prophesy concerning this Messiah.

Fast foward - it's been a couple hundred years since the Jewish people hear from God. And out of nowhere people start saying that the Messiah is going to be born. This virgin lady gets pregnant and Jesus is born. Jesus performs all sorts of miracles and teaches people that he is the fufillment of the religious system that God gave the Jews & that all of God's interaction with humanity up to this point was symbolically pointing to his life and that he is infact God walking among us. He explains that his death will remove the curse of sin & change the hearts of men by allowing us to be "born again" to escape the pattern of rebellion established when Adam and Eve sinned. He picks 12 men to study closely with him (Apostles)

He gets killed, he raises to life again proving what he said was true & he sends the spirit of God to dwell within his followers who proceed to spread the news about Jesus all over the world(Acts). The Apostles write letters to the groups of believers(churches) that are rapidly establishing all over Asia despite harsh persecution. Finally, Jesus reveals to one of his Apostles how the whole world will end with him returning to establish his kingdom on the earth forever, but not without a huge fight between all the forces of evil and Jesus. Jesus will win with no effort simply by speaking & then all people who love God and were chosen by him will spend eternity in God's presence living in close relationship with him and rejoicing. Death and pain will be seperated from humanity forever and we will again enjoy the perfect existence that God intended for us to enjoy at the beginning of creation but that we ruined.

The main message of the Bible is "redemption." Man falls into sin and God has a plan to redeem him.
Christians believe that mankind was created specifically to have a relationship with God, but that sin separates all men from God (Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23). Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ walked this earth, fully God, and yet fully man (Philippians 2:6-11), and died on the cross. Christians believe that after His death on the cross, Christ was buried, He rose again, and now lives at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for the believers forever (Hebrews 7:25). Christianity proclaims that Jesus’ death on the cross was sufficient to completely pay the sin debt owed by all men and this is what restores the broken relationship between God and man (Hebrews 9:11-14, Hebrews 10:10, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8).

Just like any history book, the bible is a biblical history book that has been translated from the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures, some written on stone. The whole Bible is one book made up of sixty-six books. It's the account of God's action in the world and his purpose for all creation. It provides many stories about the lives of good and bad people, about battles and journeys, about the life of Jesus along with letters written to groups of Christians that met in homes. It comes to us in narratives and dialogues, in proverbs and parables, in songs and allegories, in history and prophecy.

Humanly speaking, the Bible was written by approximately 40 men of diverse backgrounds over the course of 1500 years. Isaiah was a prophet, Ezra was a priest, Matthew was a tax-collector, John was a fisherman, Paul was a tentmaker, Moses was a shepherd. Despite being penned by different authors over 15 centuries, the Bible does not contradict itself and does not contain any errors. The authors all present different perspectives, but they all proclaim the same one true God, and the same one way of salvation—Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Although written by man's hand, the penning of the scriptures was inspired by Jehovah God.

Written by men. If a deity had written it it would have been far less confusing and contradictory, and, also, a deity (being omniscient) wouldn't make the errors it contains. Even the repetition (aka cut & paste copying) of the synoptic gospels tell you that men wrote it. Top Christian scholars have even singled out similarities and differences in the Pentateuch to differentiate between the writers (i.e. not Moses). The argument that men wrote it led by God also doesn't work, for the reasons just given. No. It was written by men, sincere men, perhaps, but nevertheless they were men.

Summary of the Bible

The merits of Christ's infinite sacrifice are SUFFICIENT to present or plead before the Father in our behalf in order to receive the blessings of pardon and peace and light and joy in the Holy Spirit. This is the gift that brings all other blessings in its train!

This, to me, sums up the whole Bible as far as the way of salvation is concerned!

In short: May God bless you according to the merits of Him who loved you and gave Himself for you! God bless you according to your faith in the merits of His Son!

Christ is:

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
Reconciled in Christ

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 2and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
