I'm looking for competence, skill, talent and over-all good experience from customers. I'd like them to be particularly apt with Chinese symbols as well; I don't want misshapen characters on my body, especially when I am fluent in Mandarin.

honestly, the "top" tattoo shops don't specialize in crappy symbols, or flash or tribal. most of them are custom tattoo artists who do custom work only and don't waste their time doing tiny tattoos that most average tattooers can do. many of the top shops have a price minimum and a long waiting list to be tattooed.
