He wouldn't, which proves the point that there is no god as worshipped by at least two worldwide blocs.

Hell isn't supposed to be this burning pit everyone thinks it is. Hell is defined as the "absence of god". That simply means to me that if you didn't allow him in your heart to begin with...

That you're not missing out on anything when you die. I heard from the Catholic people I'm staying with that the sins are purged/seared from your soul.

But hey, we could all use a bit of moral cleaning up...religious or not.

There is no permanent heaven or hell.
The only permanent state is enlightenment, and it cannot be described or explained.
What does God actually have to do with it?

Isnt it all about you?

Man created God and then set to worshipping his creation.
Then he cries when God doesn't show up.
Whazzup wit dat?

The God of the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) is a ruthless and judgmental humanity-hating Sadist. This is a God who: led his ‘chosen-people’ on a 40-year-long wild goose chase while systematically killing 80-85% of them; killed (by drowning, no less) nearly every living thing in his creation because he was pissed off; and who humiliated, tortured, and crucified his own son – in addition to the constant punishment via disease, pestilence, and pox that he cast upon humanity.

It would foolish to expect fairness and justice from such a being; and more foolish still to worship it. Fortunately God is not real; unfortunately, however, the conservative-fundamentalist sociopaths who worship him are all too real.

The “free will’ argument does not fly. It only works if the God does not reveal itself, but the Christian God was a miracle-making fool who was constantly intervening in human affairs (not the least of which was impregnating a teen-aged girl). Where is the free will in that?

Well, let me explain this a little.. even though i understood you aren't a believer. just take it like a theory of Christianity then, ok?

There's life after death. one can spend it in heaven or hell. one only goes to heaven through Jesus (which is why He came to this earth, died, and resurrected). If a person confesses his sins as well as the fact that Jesus is God and Savior, the person receives salvation--a ticket to heaven. just by faith. faith is backed up by living like a 'believer'. good deeds and the fruits of the spirit do NOT save people, but once a person gets to heaven he/she will be rewarded according to the life on earth. If a person did not believe in God, did not serve Him, did not confess Jesus as the Savior (because no one comes to the Father but through the Son), they do not have that 'ticket'. thus, they cannot enter heaven. God does love us. That's why He gave us free will, and a life to figure out whom to serve. He does not want humans to serve Him like robots. It has to be a heartfelt worship, out of love, you know what i mean? He does not send anyone to hell. He gave PEOPLE the power to decide, each for themselves.

yeah, i know you do not believe in any god, but i hope this helps you understand Christianity and Christians better :)
good night.

First of, God has always been working to save rather than to destroy. God calls hell a "strange act" (Isaiah 28:31) because He has to destroy His own creation whom He desired to be saved so much that He Himself died on the cross to pay our penalty. He died so we can be free from sin and have more abundant life. Therefore through hell He will finish off the work He started on the cross, which is to wipe out sin forever. God has no other choice. If we reject His love and cling to sin, He has no other choice but to destroy sin and sinner.

The Bible actually states that hell is prepared for the devil but if we refuse to accept Jesus' great sacrifice for us and choose instead to follow the devil, we must share the devil's fate. Hell is the only way sin can be wiped out and heaven restored.

(And in reality God will actually be the One who suffers the most during hell because He has to endure the suffering of those whom He created and loved so much.)

God created humans with a free will, He didn't make robots. Jesus died to pay a debt we could not pay. For instance, lets say you get a speeding ticket for $1,000. You go to court and the judge tells you that you have two choices, pay the ticket or go to jail. "I don't have that kind of money!" you cry. While you're standing there with your head hung down feeling doomed, you notice someone out of the corner of your eye stepping up to the judge and offering to pay your fine for you. You've never seen this man before, and as far as you know, he doesn't know you. But, here he steps up and pays your ticket. Would you say, "no thanks" or accept his payment on your behalf? This is what Jesus did on the cross for you and me, He paid a "sin debt" we could never pay. All you have to do is accept it. If you refuse to accept his offer and rather be put in jail, the judge would have no alternative than to send you there. The judge in this example is God, and he leaves the choice up to you.

God doesn't send people to hell, that's why christians are trying to tell you to accept Jesus. You have a choice when you die, if you havent asked Jesus to come into your heart then you will not go to heaven by that time. Jesus loves you and wants the best for you.

Will you receive Jesus Christ right now?
Here is how you can receive Christ:
1. Admit your need (I am a sinner.)
2. Change your attitude that you can save yourself. Change your attitude to the fact that only Christ can save you by what He did on the cross (Repent...means a change of mind or attitude)
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you and rose from the grave.
4. Through prayer, invite Jesus Christ to come in and control your life through the Holy Spirit. (Receive Him as Lord and Savior)

People send themselves to hell. God has given us free will. We can use that free will to serve Him, or not to serve Him.

I must disagree with my good friend tuberoot, as John 3:16 plainly states that "God so loved the world......." which is to say, "people."

Its strikes me as very odd how that first part of that famous verse gets ignored. Yes, God does love everyone.

All of this leads to me to the conclusion ( after one factors in all the illogic), that the "Christian paradigm" is, at its very best, incomplete; at its worst, dead wrong.

An infinite God under under a human construct/paradigm (read "religion") is not possible.

With respects to all

In fact GOD does love us ALL. And I'll prove it to you ! Here's how: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" - John 3:16. Let me explain this to you, God loved us SO MUCH, that He sent His Son down from His royal, safe throne in heaven to this dangerous earth, just so that we could be saved SO THAT we wouldn't go to hell. He died on the cross and arose in three days for us - that's love ! If someone doesn't accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour, THEY, THEMSELVES have sent themself to hell. God does NOT send anyone to hell - people do it to themselves by not accepting Christ as their Saviour.

The way to salvation : Believing in your heart and confessing it with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Who came down to earth and died for our sins on the cross and resurrected the third day. Asking Him to cleanse you of your sins with His precious blood, and asking for Him to be Lord and Saviour over your life.
