I finally cracked after the 14 years of my exsistance i finally cracked and every mean word i said they deserved I can't stand them and now i'm grounded it's totally unfair i didn't say any curse words i just told them that i didn't like it when they wouldn't let me finish what i'm saying and stuff like that and they grounded me can they do that because i do believe i have freedom of speech and can you please help me find a way to deal with them!

Okay i'm not a brat but i do stay calm with them and act like an adult when i'm mad but then they say "I don't want to hear another word from you" "You better shut your mouth" etc. and i'm being as calm as I can but they won't listen that's when i get mad they don't listen because they don't want to admit i'm right and they're wrong i'm not a brat really don't get the wrong impression....for example my mom told me to clean out my closet so i did but i didn't throw that much away and she yelled out me saying i didn't clean it out and i told her she could look in the trashe and she would see stuff there but she wouldn't let me finish so i basically blew up!

I didn't just blow up either i just got tired of 14 years of not being able to speak this really is the first time i've been this dramatic but if you knew my life my parents they did deserve it! I just want to find ways to deal with them.....Not critisism so please don't call me a brat

You don't have any rights your a child. And what your parents say goes. Their home, their rules.
And try acting your age, not like a little kid. And remember they are the only parents you will even have. And some day when you need them they wont be there.
And you deserve to be grounded for talking back to your parents.
Some day you will grow up and realize what a little brat you are, when your own kids do the same to you!

Honestly, I have the same problem. The best way to deal with them is (and I know its hard to do) listen to what they have to say. If you then find what you have to say more important, then POLITELY tell them so.
I did the samething with my parents, and they grounded me just the same. You have to understand that they want a certain amount of respect from the world, and that includes you.
The more gracious you are with your parents, the nicer they will be to you.
And just stick it out. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and remember, you get to leave in four years anyway!

honey.... i have been there and done that and the same thing your going through i have most definitely went through!!! i hated it when my parents did that, but sometimes they do things like that out of how they were raised and according to respect. remember your still a child and thats where they would want you to stay at in that place... yes we all have freedom of speech but when it comes to those putting the food in you the clothes on your back and give you shelter; your speech is limited.... basically the morality of things... im only 18yrs old and i still cant speak my mind. i just sit and listen becuase its not worth it, sometimes you just have to deal with it.

You're only 14 which means you are still considered a child! let your parents do their job. If they are being control freaks maybe they have a reason, or you need to have a mature conversation with them. But until you're 18 and you move out, obey their rules and stop whining!

yes, they can do that because theyre your parents, and yes, it does suck. but you have to deal wit it like eveyrone else. all relationships with parents and children are tough at this age so dont worrie about it.. eveyrthing will get better soon :) in the meantime, try to think positive and also dont say thigs u know you will get in trouble for.. just calm suttle little hints here and there will get the idea across :)
