I don't see why some people don't get this. You are perfectly free to make a CHOICE to be pro life. If you think abortion is a sin, don't have one. However, your choice to be pro life is NOT the choice that everyone can, should, or will make.

Be what you want, and let the rest of the word do the same. Besides, as a man, what business is it of yours anyway?

Does this also include being against war, the death penalty, etc. They are all forms of killing.

As for abortion, the problem is that pro-choice people do not view a fetus as a living human being. This is actually the center point between the pro-life and pro-choice groups.

And I would also like to bring up an argument in "Dear Abby" once. How many pro-life people have adopted an unwanted child? The vast majority have not. If that child is as important as they claim it is, why don't they provide it a home?

I would say the biggest argument against abortion is the taking of someones life - even before they're actually born. Who knows what the child's future might have been? On the other hand, why should the victim of rape or molestation be forced to give birth to a child born in these circumstances? There will always be pro & con on this subject.

Let's consider the case of a pair of twins. They are in the third trimester. The mother goes into early labor and one is born. The other is carried to full-term.

At the moment of the birth of the first twin, there is no biological difference between them. In the intervening period before the second one is born, it develops faster than its prematurely born twin. The first twin is more likely to have learning disabilities and problems from underdeveloped organs. The second twin is more likely to have a healthy life.

However, it is perfectly legal for the mother to kill the second twin before it is born by having an abortion. If she tried to kill the first one, it would be considered murder and she would go to jail.

Why does the law allow for such a discrepancy? Why is it illegal to kill the individual who is least likely to survive, but legal to kill the one who most likely will?

The "life of the mother" concept doesn't justify the discrepancy. If the mother's life in endangered by the pregnancy, there is no reason why the second twin's brains must be sucked out through a hose before it is removed from her body. Killing it does not increase her chances of survival.

The current US laws on abortion are fundamentally insane. The moment of birth is variable. For different individuals, it can happen months apart. There is no good reason for using that moment as the one in which a person is granted the right to live.

The moment a person gains the right to live should be granted equally to everyone based on the length of time from conception. Whether that moment is conception or nine months later is debatable.

The state of development of life is what is important, not it's location. The current US laws which are based on location are desperately in need of revision.

a woman has every reason to be able to have an abortion, within reasonable limits. the other question is about sex education in contries where abortion is strongly objected to.
Sexualizing and objectifying pre-teens is asking for trouble.
Abstinance and responsibility go a long way. So before people start harping on about how wicked abortion is, think of the reasons why it is happening. 13yo's who think being a sex object is a great ambition, need to think about the consequences. Parents need to look at how they are raising their children. All these issues stem from the family.

I see nothing wrong with abortion, its just the irrersponsibility of those young girls who want to play the game, but are shocked at what happens at the end of acting like adults.

Watching pre-teen's dancing and acting like $20 whores says a lot about the culture in which they are raised.

Well not using religion you could say its murder. Though most abortions are supposed to happen very, very early in the pregnacy. Before the baby can feel, when its just a blob of cells, though that doesn't matter to some people.

wow. i could go on and on about this topic all night.

There are many reasons not to abort a child.
first, most women who go through with an abortion end up developing emotional/social problems. such as depression and they may even live the rest of their lives grieving the loss of their unborn child.

from a religious perspective, abortion totally violates the 6th commandment which is- thou shall not kill. murdering your child just because it was a "mistake" and "it wasnt supposed to happen" is a pathetic excuse. it's not that something went wrong, having sex is an act in which to create another life. so if she ends up pregnant then it went right.
then again there are many teens and adults who are no where near ready for parenthood. thats fine, but if they're not responsible enough to protect yourself then thats their loss.

also take a look at this map:
http://www.lartl.org/id42.htm

"The population of these states is equal
to the 47,000,000+ reported "legal" surgical abortions since 1973. Perhaps this
visual perspective helps one to grasp the number of people that are gone,
dead-robbed of their God given, constitutional rights to life and liberty. How does
the “most religious” nation on the planet allow such unspeakable horror?"

its sad and digusting, we are murdering our population by the minute.
think of all the children who have never gotten to grow up, or have children of their own.
just because some dumb teen went ahead and had unprotected sex.

anyway i would write more but im pressed for time.
thats a few of my many reasons.

K, here is one. Abortion is the cessation of life before its natural end. This is an article on Yahoo news today.

Here is the other. It is graphic, but it is the aspiration of an 11 week old fetus and how it actually feels pain. This is an ultrasound of the procedure, not a computer generated film.

Which side are you on, now?

Very touchy subject, which can be examined from different angles, thus yielding entirely different responses and reactions. A simple answer to your question, would be that its murder. There are people who will tell you that if the fetus is so many weeks/months old, then its wrong. But in the first stage, it may OK.

I have a problem with so called "pro-life" Why is it that after they are born, these pro-lifers don't want to know about the children anymore. If they're preborn they're okay, if they're pre-school they don't want to know from you? These people even go so far as to kill doctors that perform abortions. They kill someone else's baby to keep a fetus alive. What I'd like to see is some of these rich, white pro-life women take a fetus from a teen age rape victim or a crack baby and have it inserted into their uterus'. Then they can talk to me about being pro-life.
