You are wrong, because Marlin doesn't make a rifle which takes both the .30-30 cartridge and the .38-40 (.38W) cartridges.

NO....You just have the wrong model number, but the Marlin Lever action 30-30 and the Winchester Model 94 Lever action rifle have been responsible for more Deer bagged than any other rifle or caliber in United States History. It is still extremely popular today and is considered the "perfect" brush gun for Deer hunting. The only draw back is it is limited to a range of about 100-120 yards to be effective for Deer hunting. Marlin makes 7 different variations of it's lever action 30-30 caliber rifle.......

I am not sure what you mean by 38W, possibly you are referring to the 38 Winchester, but Marlin makes a 336, lever action 3030. One of the most popular deer hunting rifles out there besides the Winchester 94. This caliber is very suitable for deer hunting out to 250 yards. You can shoot it further than that, however, accuracy suffers. Besides, you would not shoot at a deer outside of 200 yards unless you can DEFINITELY put it down, right. They probably are marketed with various accessories like straps, cleaning kits etc at a number of box stores. Good hunting rifle, reliable cartridge, good knock down power. Hope this helps

My dad has a marlin 30 30 . He used it for Beer hunting . A good 170 grain bullet out of a 30 30 will drop just about anything.

Doesn't look like it:

is about as close as they show on the Marlin website.

However some manufacturers generate different SKUs or model numbers for large retailers or for discount shops, so it's possible.

Cann't answer your question. But "Brad H" reply about his dad using the rifle for BEER hunting had me rolling on the floor.
