I dont think you will be charged. But if it was a collect call, you will be charged.

No, not unless it was a collect call in which case you would have been asked if you accept the charges. If you said yes then it will cost you.

b.t.w. If your friend calls you a lot he should get an international calling card. Things cost about 5 bucks and can give you up to 500 minutes of long distance calling though likely only 200 or so from Mexico but anyhow for 5 bucks he can call you or vice versa and talk for thre hours. I've used them and they are great, you can buy them all over the place in malls, 7-11's, etc.

with him being the one that called you he will be charged --only if you call him or if its a collect call or using a cell phone will get you charges for long distance calls

For house phone all incomming calls (and international) are free except:
-if yours is 800 or like this number (tool free phone)
-collect calls.

yes you will be charged because that is considered long distance since mexico is considered part of the U.S.
