if the Bible-fundamentalists are claiming that they are following Christ, then they should know that they should honor Mary too just like Christ did (and still do actually), right?
why do Bible-fundamentalists seem to hate her? are they really a follower of Christ?

just to make it clear, I don't mean worship, okay?
it's in the 10 Commandments to "honor thy father and thy mother", so it's only logical that Jesus would honor Mary as His mother. why are Bible-fundamentalists not doing the same?
by the way, honor doesn't mean "worshipping" , for if it does, then God wouldn't have commanded that to begin with.

*rolls eyes* who says anything about worshipping her?

and it's only logical that a son or daughter would feel offended if his/her mother is being maligned and disrespected.

"I will put enmity between you and the WOMAN" Jesus called his Mother Woman for just this reason--to call attention to the fact that she was who the Lord was referring to. Those that do not love her or have any devotion are under the Evil Ones thrall.

The Bible does not give any instruction whatsoever to worship Mary. Jesus respected her, but did not worship her. Two cases come to mind; once in the temple when he was teaching and was told that his mother and brothers were outside. He responded "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" He continued teaching, he did not rush outside to meet her.
Second, at the wedding where he performed the first of his miracles. They had run out of wine and Mary knew he could produce more, so she went and quietly infomed him of the situation. Paraphrasing, he said Woman, my time has not yet come. He knew that it was not the right time for him to act yet, despite her wishes.
Following his example, Christians will not worship Mary but will still respect her, just as they respect all those who rose above temptation and found favour with the Lord.

I honor MY father and mother. Respectfully, Mary is not my mother, neither did she died for me. Mary eventually became a follower of Christ not a co-redeemer. Jesus gave His life for the world and that includes Mary. Mary is not the queen of heaven. If Mary should be equally esteem with Jesus then so should John the Baptist, Moses, Abraham, Muhammad, Buddha, and Satan.

Jesus honored HIS own mother as a son.
We follow his example by honoring OUR OWN mothers like Jesus honored his.
Mary is NOT a god. The Bible is clear that you worship God alone.

I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers the prophets and of all who keep the words of this book. Worship God!"
--Revelation 22:8-9 (NIV)
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
--Ephesians 6:1-3 (NIV)

I am what many people would call a Fundamentalist and I have never met any other Fundamentalists who hate Mary. I have no issue with showing her honor. However she was just a vessel of the divine. She was divine herself and I wont pray to her.

I honor my mother too, but I do not worship her. I do not recall Jesus worshiping Mary. Jesus directed all honor and glory to the God of the Heavens, Yahweh.

Luk 8:19 ¶ Then came to him [his] mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
Luk 8:20 And it was told him [by certain] which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
Luk 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

We don't hate her we just don't worship her. Where does Jesus tell us to worship and pray to Mary? I honor my mother but I don't pray to her.

I don't hate her. The Bible says that she found favor in the Lord. I do not pray to her, because the Bible says to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus.

We don't hate her, we just don't think she is Deity. Jesus honored her and we are to honor our mother also.
