It says Holy Trinity nowhere in the Bible. The Catholic Church made it up so that they wouldn't be considered polytheistic.

It takes study to find the trinity in the Bible. It was a made up word by people years later, after compiling the verses which I am saying, 'takes study' to learn.
You see, unlike many on Yahoo!Answers, these men were the most knowledgeable people recognized and available to the Council at the time. They didn't come into the Council and say stupid things that revealed their ignorance. These guys knew many scriptures.
So if you cannot find the trinity in the Bible, it's because the word 'trinity' wasn't around when the scriptures were written. So saying that there can't be a 'trinity' because it's not in the Bible is rhetoric. There's no substance to the argument, and remains one of the key points that strange teachers depend upon.
If someone believes the scriptures in the first place, then they ought to study them better. Anyone who reads the Bible can find what the trinity means by paying attention to what they are reading.

The concept of a truine God is not a Bible teaching, therefore you will not find the word Trinity in the Bible.
The pagan teaching of three gods in one was fused in with apostate Christianity in the 4th Century CE.
The Bible teaches that there is one Almighty God and His name is Jehovah.
Jehovah God has one only begotten Son,whose name is Jesus.
There is NO TRINITY
I just had to add - how unbelievable some of the responses you have received are!
"The word trinity is not in the Bible but it is implied"!!
"Jesus is called god"!! SO WHAT?? How does that warrant a trinity??
All these responses you have received that defend the trinity doctrine are from ones who just don't have a deep understanding of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible is totally harmonious. And by saying that Jehovah and Jesus are part of a trinity goes against all that the Bible teaches.

The words are not in the Bible but the doctrine is there. Here is a list of other Christian teachings which are not in the Bible but believed by many Christians.
1.The word "Trinity," meaning three persons in one God, each equal to the other. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible. The word was invented by the Catholic Church to try to explain somewhat the mystery of there being three persons in one God , as is revealed by God in the Bible. The Athanasian Creed, dating from the late 4th century, was written during the time of St. Athanasius (297 - 373), bishop of Alexandria, but probably not by him. It states "The Catholic Faith is this, that we worship One God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity." The Council of Nicea (A.D. 325) said that Jesus is of one substance with God the Father. It explained the absolute unity between God and Jesus. The Council of Constantinople (A.D. 381) said the same about the Holy Spirit as Nicea said about Jesus. St. Augustine (345 - 430) wrote De Trinatate (about the Trinity).
2.The word "Rapture"
3.The words "Altar call"
4.A list of inspired books which make up the Canon of Scripture, i.e., a list of the books to be included in "The Bible"
5.The Sabbath Day is Saturday. Exodus 20:8 says, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." It is not written down in the New Testament that the Apostles had the authority to change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday.
6.The word "Incarnation," i.e., the Son of God took on flesh
7.That the Bible alone is to be used as the sole rule of faith
8.By faith alone you are saved
Faith in the Trinity
Christians are baptized "in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." They are not baptized "in the names" of the Father, Son and Spirit because there is only one God, the Most Holy Trinity. The baptismal confession of faith has three parts because "the faith of all Christians rests on the Trinity" (St. Caesarilus of Arles).
The Central Mystery
The Trinity is the central mystery of Christian life, the source of all the other mysteries, and the most fundamental mystery in "the hierarchy of the truths of faith." The whole history of salvation is identical with the way God revealed himself as Father, Son and Spirit. The Trinity is a mystery which would not be known unless revealed. The mystery is inaccessible both to reason alone and to Israel before the sending of Jesus and the sending of the Holy Spirit.
Root of Faith
The Trinity has always been the very root of the Church's faith (expressed in the baptismal liturgy). Paul summarized this apostolic faith in saying "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you" (2 Cor 13:13).

For Jay Smithereens: easily, there is not any anarthrous nominative noun in John financial disaster a million which lacks the article yet is translated with a distinctive meaning interior the NWT. The NWT translators weren't inconsistent. You look working with the thought all people 5 Greek noun situations cope with using the article an identical way. they do no longer. as a results of character of the nominative case, it basically approximately constantly demands the article to be seen particular in meaning. As on your occasion, the be conscious "god" in John a million:6 is interior the genitive case, which freely dispenses with the article, even whilst particular in meaning. John's utilization of the article is consistent with different first century Koine Greek writers. As for the Sahidic Coptic translation, the translators did no longer "drop the article," they "further" the Coptic indefinite article - a - basically like the NWT translators did. that's beside the point what the Coptic church believes right this moment, as a results of fact that they did no longer translate the Sahidic NT, nor do they nevertheless use it. The Copts who translated the Sahidic Coptic NT for sure did no longer have faith interior the Trinity. Their translation replaced into made before the Council of Nicea - a minimum of one hundred years before - long before "orthodox" Trinitarianism had taken carry. that's shown in different Sahidic Coptic texts. to illustrate, John 8:fifty 8, John 10:33, Titus 2:13, 2 Peter a million:a million, are easily greater comparable to the NWT than to different maximum appropriate English translations of right this moment.

The actual words are not but your getting silly. Was the word Jehovah ever in it?
The trinity is REFERRED to in many places.
One place is Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness,...."
Another Matthew 28:19 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
Enough If you read the bible, esp NT, you will see it alot of places.

Where in the Bible does it say the word "bible." Its not about the word. The question is whether or not the doctrine of the trinity is taught in scripture and it clearly is.

The word trinity is not found in any Bible translation. Jesus never said anything about being part of a trinity. Jesus did say that he and his Father are one, but one in union.
Just like when Jesus prayed to his Father Jesus said let the Apostles be one with us.
Are the Apostles part of a trinity? No way.
But they are one in union.
My wife and I are one the Bible says. But am I really my wife? No way !!! We are one in union.

The word Trinity isn't used but it is abundantly clear that the Three are One. Here is one example - Why then would Thomas call Jesus God if it was forbidden to have other Gods? Jesus never made a correction. He allowed Thomas to call him God. There are many references of this type. The word used to define it is irrelevant.
John 20:
27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed

You won't - but it is implied. The name "Trinity" is a construct so man can try to comprehend the incomprehensible.
There is a Person called the Father who is called God.
There is a Person called the Son who is also called God.
There is a Person called the Holy Ghost who is also called God.
Jesus said to make Disciples: "baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" (Matthew 28:19).
One name (God) -- yet three names!
