Latter-day Saints (called Mormons by 19th century persecutors) wouldn't be taken seriously if we believed this. Also, LDS are a Christian denomination, not a separate religion.

Simple fact-checking and study of non-biased sources would confirm that we're not all lying.

First off, Mormonism is a Christian denomination; it is not a religion. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a sect within the Mormon denomination.

Secondly, we are not considered mainstream. For proof, look at the questions posed to Mormons here on Yahoo, or asked of the Romney team.

Thirdly, your presentation of our beliefs is a bit off base. What we believe is that the righteous will be heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ.

Why are Christians accepted as mainstream when they believe this:

>Using the approach of The God Makers, I could condemn you and me as Christians for believing that an "extraterrestial" being "placed genetic material on this earth" and developed a man named Adam, then used "cloning" to make a woman. This extraterrestial being later came down to try out humanhood, where he was killed but used his "extraterrestrial power" to "reanimate" his body and then "levitate" back to his "extraterrestial base" (heaven). With equal fairness, I could say that Christians worship this "extraterrestial alien" by pretending to chew on his body and drink his blood in an occult rite called "communion."<<

There is absolutely NOTING in any of scriptures that says we get a planet when we die. All the sciptures say is that we can be heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ.

Something to do with the fact there's 13 million of us worldwide and we're still growing faster than any other Christian denomination on Earth.

And probably something else to do with the fact that we don't believe what you say either.

I didn't know we were considered "mainstream". I always liked being different than the rest. And I am not aware of any church doctrine that says we get a planet when we die. Could you provide a reference, please?

It's not a religion; it's a christian denomination.

Is it any worse than believing you get a ticket to an eternal fun park in the sky?

How much wackier is that than believing you go to a place called heaven/hell for eternity? At least we know planets exist.

Because they've been around long enough that people accept them. Its the same with Wicca. When Wicca has been around long enough, it will be tolerated even if people don't really like it.

here is the site...funny eh?

One of the most important differents (although by no means not the only) difference is this idea of the exaltation of Man. It is believed by Mormons that after the Resurrection (the Resurrection of all mankind, not just of Christ) all Mormons who have been baptized into the Mormon faith will receive new Resurrection Bodies that will make them the same as God. According to some Mormon thinkers, these resurrected Mormons will in fact go on to be Gods themselves, of their own worlds, which they will populate with their spiritual children. (This is only for the males, of course).

another great site:
