State of Georgia? Providing that you don't have a record, and have a clean Drivers License, what else do you need to be able to purchase a pistal/handgun for personal protection? Is there a "Waiting Period" or is it possible to purchase one when you first go to buy it? Also, what does a personal protection type of handgun cost? (approximately) Thanks.

Let your fingers do the walking. You didn't say what part of Georgia you were from, but GA is one of the better 'Free States', and there should be several reputable firearms dealers within a short distance of where you live, any of which would be more than happy to answer any and all of your questions better than they can be here, especially as to what pistol you might want, and how much it would cost, as well as safety and self-defense courses you should consider taking, especially for a Concealed Weapons Permit.

None. I think Y!A should have more staff to look through Q's that are reported & they should be smart enough to send violation notices that describe what part of question is in violation & why & how it could be worded to fit into the rules. Rules are too vague. I had "menopausal" Q. violation for "Adult" content. I used anatomical words not gutter trash talk. So I looked up each word in Y!A own "resolved" Q's and these were still up & around w/o violations. I included all links to these previous Q.'s in my appeal. I checked them a month later & they are still there. Yet Q's like, "How big do you like c**k that you suck?" Gets ton's off filthy answers & TU's Answer violation. We'll see.

See the link...
type of gun [pistol] is determined by YOU- what you like and can use correctly.

Two questions you should ask yourself before considering buying/using a weapon.
1.Legal and financial implications if and when you shoot someone.
2.The possibility that your weapon will be taken away from you and used against you.
