just because some think they are better than the Blessed Mother of God.
edit: why do people say they don't need to worship her? who says they should worship her?

#1, Mary is dead.
#2, She is not a virgin - she and Joseph had sex after Jesus was born.
#3, A little child needing his mother is not an excuse to exalt Mary beyond the human she was. It doesn't make sense, especially against the loose use of the scripture, "be ye as little children."
Mary was a great lady, with good character. She was an imperfect person just like any of the rest of us. She was chosen because she had a right heart before God, not because she was perfect. She was also of the line of David, which God promised the Messiah would be born from.

I believe Mary should be honored as the mother of Jesus. However I lean of Jesus not on Mary. Mary was a vessel for the divine but she wasn't divine herself. Only God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) should be prayed to and worshiped. King Saul was condemned by God when he seeked the counsel of the dead. Why should we be any better.

Ave Maria. The Bible says that the Blessed Mother was born w/out original sin unlike the rest of us. She was pure to be the mother or Jesus.

Yes we all need her as our spiritual mother. Those who claim they don't are those who do not know God their father.
Please, Bible Christians, stop repeating "we do not worship her"---it silly to keep saying that because no one worships her. We all agree on that. Catholics have never worshiped Mary. She would not want worship, nor accept it.
We love her as our spiritual mother. She loves us and prays for us. This is her role, always pointing to her son our Lord. And yes, she is the Mother of God because Jesus is God. He was fully God and fully man. Two distinct natures. It was those two natures that allowed for salvation on the cross to open heaven for us.

I think Mary deserves to be honored above all women but do not believe it necessary to pray to her for intercession, I pray directly to God in Jesus name as Jesus said to do.
