The question, is are you sorry for stealing, or sorry you got caught? If you're really sorry, and swear not to do it again, you have to tell them that. It's gonna take a long time to gain trust back, it takes a long time to earn it in the beginning, and twice as long to earn it back after a bad deed. So, you have to confront it, tell them in person your sorry. I'd send the letter also, but in person means more than a letter.

Since you feel bad about your actions and willing to make up your defeciencies, there is still a hope for you.

What I suggest you do is setup a meeting with your boss and apologize from your heart. Don't be surprised if you get fired. Your offence was THAT serious and he has the every right to let you go.

Still, what's done is done. You cannot take it back. Apologize and ASK for forgiveness. THEN, never repeat your mistake again - ever.

As to coming to terms, I think, talking to your boss and aplogizing will get you started. You made a serious error in judgement - give yourself some time to heal.

Good luck to you.

I wouldn't go back in the shop again. Trust me he doesn't want to see you again. But I think it's really great that you have a conscience about it. You sound like you are geniunly sorry for not only what you did but how it made him feel. I would write a letter of apology.

Don't expect to keep your job. But still apologize. Do not make excuses for taking the money - just be sincerely apologetic and tell your boss you are ashamed of yourself for what you did and ask the owner if there is anything you can do to prove ypu are trustworthy again.

By all means apologize and make a promise to yourself that you wont even be tempted to do it again. Practice self control and discipline. Maybe you have reasons why you did it, but rather than brood and blame yourself, move on with your life. That will be a lesson for you as you get along with yourtart all over again by being good to yourself okay?! Good luck!

Damn, that one... I don't know what you could do other than try to talk to him. Let him know why you felt the need to steal. Let him know how bad you feel about it, and ask him if he feel better if you resigned. You want a second chance, trust will be a factor after all, he wants a successful business. But, wost come to worst, he knows you are sorry and you can start fresh someplace else.. Best scenario, he will give you a raise so you won't feel the need to steal anymore.

You've got to stand up and take the heat. Otherwise you;re going to convince yourself further down the line that you deserve to do it again (to get back at the people who wronged you). Trust me, it comes around.

Good luck.

Be a man and admit your disgression and apologize. Tell the boss that you don't know what provoked you to do such a thing and that you will never do it again.
